Saw The Manics at the Corn Exchange at the same time. They were fantastic and new songs sounded great. Somgs such as Die In The Summertime would be great at T.

I'm going to the Hammersmith gig for Adam Ant due to the clash with the Manics.

Manics was one of my regrets not seeing in 2011 so i'll definitely not be missing them this year

We missed the start of their set as we were at the house of pain who were excellent, when you look at the line 2011 compared to the past couple. It really would make the baby jesus cry at the slide....

I didn't think The Manics were at their best at T2011. Saw them at the Corn Exchange the year before on their Postcards tour and they were far better. In 2011 they were at the end of their tour and looked tired and played too safe a set.

If you had to rank festivals on lineups this year, where would you place T?

I reckon as usual (in my opinion) it's second to glastonbury (which is obviously in first) right now.

It probably is one of the better lineups of the big festivals but again its quite a poor year in terms of fest lineups but I think that might be the case from now on

To be fair there are plenty of acts around that would have been great additions that they havent booked (so far)

but they have a lot less 'pop' acts this year than the last couple of years it is definitely more of a return to form bar Calvin headlining, because that is really atrocious

Thing is they've booked pretty much everyone who's big right now

and incorporated bands like Pixies, manic street preachers, elbow, james, charlatans, embrace, human league, the stranglers, franz ferdinand etc to satisfy older goers.

There's plenty more to come too, I personally feel in retrospect T have got it very right this year.

For T to have Biffy Clyro, Pixies, Manic Street Preachers, Chvrches, Maximo Park, Pharrell Williams, James, The Charlatans, Embrace, The Human League, The Stranglers, We Are Scientists, Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Tame Impala, Above & Beyond, Inspiral Carpets and Royal Blood is pretty impressive. It's not as good as Glastonbury, not even close actually, but it does manage to cater to old and young music fans and I know I'm going to be occupied most of the weekend!

Yes but virtually all of those are on the Friday. They need more established bands to fill out Sat and Sunday, particularly rock.

Well I still don't have a saturday headliner either. I hope tuts has a good one, that's why i'm hoping that the next announcements will bring some more into the mix.

But apart from that, I have stuff to see all weekend.

See imagine how strong the T lineup would be if a lot of the acts almost certainly playing huge slots were further down. For example if Jake Bugg and Ben Howard were relatively low mainstage.

It's T trying to book a strong lineup when there's barely anyone around this year, not because it's cashing out.
