The last two years they stopped checking tickets as well as wristbands going in and out of the arena but according to the essentials guide it looks like we have to have our tickets on us at all times again? Is this the case or are they just putting that in?

I've never had my ticket checked, only when coming into the campsite on the Friday morning for my wristband, always keep it on my but it's never been scanned going from campsite to arena?

I knew that was the case in 2011, might be remembering wrong about 2012 but I'm certain I had my ticket on me because I knew from the previous year, then ended up not needing. And last year definitely nobody checked my ticket once I was in the festival, didn't need it on me the entire weekend.

2011 was the first year they stopped scanning you everywhere. Before that if you lost your ticket you were basically fooked. It was possible to get a replacement if you had the card it was originally paid for and ID and a few hours to waste jumping through hoops for them. You can spot the n00bs here

We (the guys I were with) were definitely scanned last year because one of us never got through to the arena because he had lost his ticket so we all had to go through and leave him then one of us had to go back into the campsite with two tickets to let him through.

Might just be your luck, like with the searches. Some gates they stop you others they let you waltz right in.

Apologies if this has been answered a hundred times on this thread, but how rigorous are the searches to get into the campsite from the main entrance? Do they empty your bags or whats the script? This is my 2nd TITP but my first (2012) I stayed at a campsite nearby and we had the car right next to the tent.

I've never been searched, only once did 1 of our group of 4 were searched. I always think if it's a bigger rowdier crowd you are more likely to be stopped. Seen dogs at Buchanan bus station but never been at the entrance when I've been there.

Yeah i remember seeing a sniffer the last couple years just after you get your wristband. Never seen anyone get busted though.

If it's well hidden you'll be fine. Only ever seen a max of 2 dogs ever at the gate and they only had the one dog last year who seemed more occupied about chasing a tennis ball around.

Noticed there is a small Healthy T icon in the sunset strip, was Healthy T there last year?

I thought they got rid of it in 2012 and just had the one up the top of the arena.

What we're saying is that It's luck of the draw and depends how dodgy you look basically. But they could have more or less dogs/police than last year, Who knows.

So was there a healthy T in the campsite/sunset strip last year or not? I certainly didn't see it last year.

Last year it was harder to get anything through to campsite or Arena because of the new Es people were taken, it's just your luck

I'm planning on bringing some weed stashed at the bottom of my bag for tent times, but knowing my luck I'll be searched. If it's it's enough for personal use they'll just take it off me and let me in, right? Don't wanna get thrown out for a Henry!

Just put on the tears and hope for the best.I always carry my stuff on me when taking it through.If they start going through your bag finely they might find it.Inside your tent maybe,iv never seen anyone getting told to take their tent out its bag.
