Gingo
That is cheap compared to £140 to see Fleetwood Mac at the Hydro.
mrtourette
My point was just that it's their least critically acclaimed album, and so it was received poorly (by critics) compared to the rest of their albums.

Gucci Piggy
Yeah I get that, I was just saying in the greater scheme of things regarding Muse's festival bookings next year it doesn't matter one iota how the critics rated their last album. DomDom1984
It's certainly true that The 2nd Law was poorer received than the rest, but not by much, with the exception of "Origin of Symmetery" which is the only one which stands out. The rest of the albums got reviews which were mostly positive ( and yes, that is including the latest album ), but some thumbs in the middle. There has been no sharp downturn. There's been no real difference both commercially and critically for them. So I'm pretty confused as to why this would have any sort of effect on them. In truth, it would appear that they're getting almost the same sort of press now as they were before, and unlike the Resistance tour, their live shows are actually getting pretty universal praise again, which is actually one of the real keys to what makes them a big live draw. Gingo
Fleetwood Mac for TITP 2014!!!!! But in all seriousness they were outstanding and the Hydro is shaping up to be a world class venue
DomDom1984
The 2nd Law tour was so much better than The Resistance one. The Resistance arena tour was the most boring, predictable Muse tour there's been.

harryomatic
I remember a few years back playing a game where everyone listed 20 acts they predicted or hoped to see at T, then we went back once the whole lineup was released and saw who did the best. Anyone keen? I'd go with: Hope to be there Biffy Clyro (headliners) Arctic Monkeys (headliners) David Bowie (headliner) Queens of the Stone Age Chvrches Madeon Travis Seasick Steve Sigur Ros We Are Scientists Fall Out Boy Franz Ferdinand The Gaslight Anthem Expect to be there Bruno Mars Example Vampire Weekend Avicii Disclosure The Vaccines Jessie J

DomDom1984
I've decided to stay in the realms of possible acts, but obviousy a huge number of these acts WON'T play the festival. Erm... so really, I'd only pay attention to the ones in the HOPE list that have an ( also expect ) thing beside them. HOPE TO BE THERE 30 Seconds to Mars Alanis Morissette Alphabeat Arcade Fire Arctic Monkeys Ash Avril Lavigne ( aye, and so? ) Basement Jaxx Biffy Clyro ( also expect ) Blondie Bjorn Again Bruno Mars Cast Charlie Simpson CHVRCHES ( also expect ) Counting Crows Daft Punk Death Cab for Cutie Ed Sheeran ( also expect ) Ellie Goulding ( also expect ) Fall Out Boy Feeder Florence and the Machine Foals Foo Fighters Foster the People Franz Ferdinand ( also expect ) Goldfrapp Guillemots Interpol James Jimmy Eat Worl Jessie J ( also expect ) Katy Perry Keane Kids in Glass Houses Kings of Leon Klaxons Kodaline ( also expect ) M People M83 Madness Manic Street Preachers ( also expect ) MGMT Moby Muse Nero Newton Faulkner ( also expect, just a gut feeling ) No Doubt Nine Inch Nails Noisettes Panic at the Disco Patrick Wolf Paul Heaton Pink Pixies Placebo ( also expect ) Portishead Rise Against Sigur Ros Skunk Anansie The Airborne Toxic Event The Civil Wars The Divine Comedy The Flaming Lips The Lumineers The Magic Numbers The Naked and Famous The National The Prodigy The Strokes The Subways The Wombats Vampire Weekend ( also expect ) We Are Scientists Weezer Wheatus White Lies ( also expect ) Yeah Yeah Yeahs You Me at Six EXPECT TO BE THERE Andy Burrows Big Country Camera Obscura Del Amitri Elbow Empire of the Sun Example Glasvegas London Grammar Paolo Nutini Primal Scream The Maccabees Tinie Tempah Turin Brakes

DomDom1984
Haven't really given Bastille much thought actually. Suppose they could play a better slot than this year. I suspect that Example might be one of the Radio 1 headliners. Tinie Tempah will play a main stage spot I reckon. CHVRCHES will be high on King Tuts or afternoon Radio 1 I think. Franz Ferdinand I'm tipping for a decent slot on ANY stage, but I think headlining Tuts is the best bet. Manics to headline a Tuts night as well. Del Amitri to be a main stage opener one of the days. Glasvegas to headline transmissions. Elbow in their usual sub spot. Vampire Weekend to get a good main stage slot. Placebo to get an afternoon slot on main or a good spot on one of the other big stages. That's my guesswork done for the day.

DomDom1984
Two Door Cinema Club ain't a possible I don't think. Apparently they're gonna be locked in the studio a lot of next year.
harryomatic
Could definitely see Bastille being on main stage middle of the day, or high up on King Tuts next year.
Tobieski
Bastille are bigger than that, they could easily manage something like third main next year?

Gingo
Seen someone posting in the DL forum about some July festivals waiting to hear back from RATM about playing, could TITP be one of them? Wouldn't think they were in the current target audience they have been trying to build but could be a change of direction and they have a lot of history with the festival being the first ever headliner so maybe a possiblity Edited October 8, 2013 by Gingo
