foolee
I can see his argument, and it is probably just my personal view, but I certainly don't see Greenday being this 'big band' that is being talked about, if is the case that Geoff has pulled off a 'big' headliner as is being claimed. Millar95
I know what you mean, I'm just thinking this rolling stones talk is more wishful thinking than realism. If it is indeed a big headliner then yes it could well be someone like them but I'm sure Geoff would have described rihanna as big before she was announced. Don't want to hype it up and be disappointed
Chiefski
This is what I was thinking! It's the weekend before T so could this be potential for the heavier bands next year? I hope so.
blue6field
still hoping for Arcade fire, Blur and Biffy now there's a sold out festival Geoff!
Millar95
Going by the article stating '40 years of festivals at Knebworth' It doesnt necessarily mean they are going down the Sonisphere type lineup, though I wont be surprised if a few bands that have showed up over their history (Rolling Stones being one) do get rumoured. Chiefski
I reckon Oasis will be rumoured a fair bit!
eFestivals
Glastonbury had Springsteen, so there was a belief that T would have Springsteen.Glastonbury had the stones, so ...Can you see where I'm going with this guys...? eFestivals
We are blatently getting McBusted, they have a scottish sounding name as long as they've farted north of the border they can be legitimately claimed as Scottish. Stuart1000
Tinie Tempah cancelled his UK arena tour this morning. He rescheduled all of the dates(and downsized quite a few of them to Academy venues while he was at it but I'm sure that had nothing to do with the cancellation) apart from the Scottish ones but tweeted Scotland crew I have something massive for you in the summer too! ;-) Edited November 12, 2013 by Stuart1000

He rescheduled all of the dates(and downsized quite a few of them to Academy venues while he was at it but I'm sure that had nothing to do with the cancellation) apart from the Scottish ones but tweeted To me, that says one of a few things: T headliner (unlikely I know) Rockness headliner Outdoor show in Glasgow (maybe to tie in with Commonwealth Games)
Stuart1000
These dates were being promoted by DF. It's making me think, surely they would have rescheduled at least one of the Scottish dates. By DF cancelling both completely, DF must have something up their sleeve involving Tinie they want to sell tickets for. Whether that's T or something else is yet to be seen. Pokeybumwanker
Any good shouts for the Slam tent next year , the Main and Radio 1 didn't appeal to me this year so spent most my time loving the Slam tent again, would be great to see some more amazing Djs getting announced next year
TheGaffer
If Geoff could pull the Stones out of the bag, it would solve all his problems. Guaranteed sellout, even if he cheapened out on the other headliners and acts, and it would restore T's reputation as a credible major festival. Chiefski
A big name doesn't really make the weekend, just enhances it, I'd rather a set of safe dependable headliners and a solid undercard then a huge name and crap lineup for the rest (sounds similar to the last time Stone Roses headlined a bit...) Totally agree, and the same could be said if he somehow got oasis, what a catch that would be= instant sell out The dream 3 for me... Artic monkeys/ oasis /stone roses Think it will be Artic monkeys/lady gaga/green day Edited November 12, 2013 by Chiefski
TheGaffer
I guess that if the Stones are playing, and there is an announcement on Friday, they will be announced. So time will tell!
foolee
I would honestly like Biffy Clyro, Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire. Thats realistic, don't think it'd be over the top expensive too book and would be a happy set for me personally, unsure on how well it would actually sell though. kingcrawler
Arcade Fire won't play. I think it'll be Biffy Clyro, Lady Gaga and Arctic Monkeys.
thetime
As others have said I don't think it will be far of arctic monkeys and biffy + plus 1. That 1 is anyone's guess, pop headliner or massive act. I am going in between and wouldn't be surprised if it was blur, oasis or even radiohead.
