luckysalt
I haven't been for a while, just wondered can you not take in any form of music systems now? Website says no soundsystems, so you can't take a little CD player in then? Do they enforce this? Take them off you if they find them either at the entrance or at your camp? I know V do, but at Download you're fine to take them in.
kaosmark2
If I remember rightly, Latitude T&C said the same thing, and they certainly didn't enforce it there. I suspect they'll only kick off if you're carrying a great fuck-off system, just stick some smallish speakers in your bag.
jonodillieono
Since I've been going they haven't really enforced anything. I've never once been checked for glass/drugs (not that I had either but still)
Bisque
I take my big retro JVC boom box every year. Never had a problem taking it in or using it (mostly during the day to kill time between bands or for the Ashes). It takes 12 D sized batteries for sense of scale. luckysalt
It would be for after hours or before bands, If I have room then I'll risk it. cheers for replies
Bisque
(with speakers separated)

Bisque
It's brilliant. The separate ceramic speakers which can take a beating sound really nice when placed at sitting height but needs a camping chair of its own to turn it up loud properly for when after the bands have finished. I use my iTrip & an iPod to play tunes on it, if you pre-make a playlist & dim the light the battery lasts fine until someone thinks they can play DJ. The equalizer is handy too for turning it up loud & preventing too much distortion. It's had my Ghost Busters II soundtrack in the tape deck since I bought it! I'd rather bring this along as its so much better listening music on a decent audio system than some tinny portable speakers just pumping out treble
jonodillieono
I would be so paranoid about some twat stealing/smashing it though
lharris92
well last year at reading we had a portable radio (like the one shown below but more modern - could plug in ipods) and my bag got searched... long story short they said either bin it or take it back to a car (we didn't have one). so basically went as if we were going to leave but then walked into a different queue and went straight through. so yeah be careful with it as there are some jobsworths there - obviously glass and stuff is a different matter but some girl got a handheld mirror taken away because of such. kev1664
Strangely enough sound systems are on the confiscation policy page but not the non permitted items page....
evilduck
We've taken small radios and docks in the past and not had them taken off us when searched.
Bisque
I think when they mean sound systems they might be referring to massive ones people used to rave around in fields in the '90s maybe. Not too afraid of it getting stolen as a friend of a friend always buys a Friday ticket & cotches by the tents getting mashed all day. I like this picture, but unsure why sunglasses at night?
