Festival feedback, what did people think this year ?

I paid for tickets for my wheelchair using son and friend plus myself and husband. We wanted to go separately and needed confirmation that we would be allowed to take carers/companions for the two lads who were more apporopriate age than us. It came 2 days before the festival by which time it was too late for people to take time off work, We needn't have paid for our own tickets. Thought it was not well explained on the Ticketline website.

Instructed to send disability ID to Arnside address - two weeks before the address had changed so now wondering where all that ID has got to?

RAMRA right in that accessible camping was too far away. Plus disabled showers were not big enough and were cold! Although free it would have been better to go in the hot showers and pay.

After the rain on Saturday night/Sunday morning the main access areas to the arena were - well - inaccessible to wheelchairs. So the boys decided to call it a day and leave as it just wasn't possible to get around.

I had bought tickets to Emperors field for us too but due to bad signposting and staff who didn't know where Emperors field parking was we ended up in the family area - glad we did. We had a look at Emperors Field and wondered what everyone was paying for as they were almost as tightly packed as the main camping area. Loos were the same as on Family Field.

Am philosophical about all problems as we really enjoyed what we did see (and hassle goes with the territory of being disabled) although we didn't get to see the stuff that we would have really liked. The atmosphere was great and the lads mostly had a good time and were helped around by lots of other festival goers which was lovely.

However, I do feel a bit ripped off as we could have saved the cost of two tickets and needn't have paid for Emperors Field either. I have contacted Kendal Calling and initially got a reply - which was polite and pleasant but managed to ignore my main gripe about ID going missing, lack of communication prior to the festival and overcharging by not being transparent on the Ticketline website. They haven't responded to my second email which I think is a bit lame really.
