Not if you were at the front?

"I learned to dri- BOOOM- keys we're - BOOOOOOOOM - suburban- BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM- believe i- BOOOOM"

The bass was rather high in the mix, to say the least.

That just about sums up my experience ha. We were probably stood in the same area - 5 rows back, stage right.

My mate at work tells me I should stop moaning about it as apparently all gigs in the 70's/80's sounded like that!

Richard's classical solo album came out today for anyone that's interested, really lovely listen imo

Did it? I legit bought it around month ago (from iTunes). Really beautiful music though, well worth a listen if you're remotely interested in classical.

Oh right, well he tweeted saying today was the release day so I bought it earlier hahaha. Agree though it's beautiful and I live the concept (and members of the national feature)

hopefully the last single as well. i can't wait for them to wrap up the Reflektor tour / promotion so that i can begin looking forward to their next album (even though it won't be coming out until (i'm guessing) 2016). love the band but i've somewhat soured on them with this album. they might go further down this route for the next album - who knows - but i'm hoping they don't

Oh, I love that video. I might have to start listening to You Already Know, just to watch it.

Going in new, ‘interesting’ directions doesn’t mean you have to like it. But with regards to Reflektor, I don’t really think it’s that different or radical. I also still think it’s brilliant, even more so recently. There’s some iffy moments on the first disc/side, admittedly, but Here Comes The Night Time has become the standout of the album for me.

FloorFiller - What route exactly is it that you’re hoping they avoid next time round? I actually hope they embrace the Haitian influences more, as that was probably my only disappointment with the album.

I know some people didn't like the approach to the live shows, but I think it’s made them so much better, having only seen them on The Suburbs tour previously.

Completely have the same views towards this. Can't wait for the new album.

I find it kind of annoying that the latest individual cover version they've done is across every music news site and I imagine people that don't like the band hate it even more but it's not really the band's fault.

I did really enjoy Reflektor and I liked how it wasn't as easily compared to Funeral as the last two but it still wasn't different enough to alienate the existing fans.

Yeah I can't stand it when bands do something new and interesting. Pass me the Franz Ferdinand CD.

Yeah they haven't changed/evolved at all...

Anyway, You Already Know is a poor choice for a single, yo've still got Joan of Arc, Here Comes The Night Time, Its Never Over and even Normal Person!! All much better! (It makes me sad, mainly cause singles are likely to be cut from future tours :P)

Reflektor was brilliant in its own way, it got better and better everytime I listened to it and the Earls Court show was just stunning live. I think they got the right mix between the show spectacle and it still being about the band performing songs. (Where as say Muse, went a little overboard on their last tour.)

Are you saying that shows massive progression? Sounds like Franz Ferdinand by numbers, with a 303 playing over the top of them in the middle. Can that drummer only play one beat? Not exactly the same progression as say, Tunnels -> Sprawl -> Super symmetry is it? Then again, in presumably preaching to the choir on this thread. Edited by stuartbert two hats

I don't really understand why the media keeps publishing articles every time the band play a different cover song recently. I've seen about 4/5 articles on NME and gig wise now - they've done covers at nearly every other gig for the past year, why the need to tell the world each time?

Must be a slow news month...

Not massive :P but it shows something different (the album track is a bit more dancey/technoy). Not on the same scale as Arcade Fire obviously, but its a disservice to Franz Ferdinand to claim they haven't tried anything new or different even if they have fallen back to old tricks on the last album. (Full disclosure, I'm a a massive fan boy and they are the first band I got into properly :P).

Also Supersymmetry is such a forgettable song :P
