Aren't the IOW exclusive claims normally correct? I'm under the impression that they throw enough cash to actually enforce the exclusivity that they claim?

Glastonbury seems to quite often get around UK exclusivity rights. Flying Lotus in 2015 is one example. But I do think it's highly unlikely that this one will be broken considering the size of the band and how much attention (and perhaps money) IOW have given it.

I wasn't being serious. But, considering IOW is before Glastonbury, there's a gap of a couple of weeks to stir the pot...

This Normal Person love in is making me feel weirded out. To redress the balance, I'm bringing in the real hero of Reflektor

Magic.

Second worst song on the album imo (after You Already Know), though I do like that version more.

If this thread proved anything it was that Reflektor was a pretty polarising effort so I'll pass over that argument but yeah it's safe to say that chapter's done and they'll be moving on, The record, stage show, props, etc. were all pretty experimental by their standards and from the footage of the festival shows this summer it looks like they've mostly left all that behind and gone back to the Arcade Fire of old. I feel as if the music will too but it's hard to say really. Win's starting to resemble Bob Smith so maybe a new wave record. :P

I don't think so at all from what I've seen. All of the props and additional members have been there. Also Owen Pallett posted a clip on snapchat of them rehearsing a new song and the rhythm sounded a lot like Reflektor, off-puttingly similar actually.

I watched the most recent live stream and it was very inconsistent. Ready To Start and The Suburbs sounded dreadful (getting a bit bored of them as live staples tbh) but there was a more prominent synth sound throughout and some of it was brilliant. Sprawl II went hard in a way I've never seen or heard before.

The props as in, like, skeleton dancers and bobble heads? I would assume the additional members will stick around as key Reflektor songs can't be played without them but I felt they'd left a lot of it behind.

The review of their new material previewed last weekend does sound like they're not leaving it behind fully but I guess we'll see before judgments are fully made. Predicting a new single by end of year if not start of next.

Can't remember the skeleton dancers but bobble heads yeah. Fair point about playing the Reflektor tracks, though I do think the extra percussion will stay anyway, they play Win's DJ sets too and I actually really like the sound, they enhance some of the older songs.

I'm weirdly unexcited about new stuff though. Got a bad feeling.

Would other artists please stop hogging Owen Pallett and leave him in peace to finish another glorious opus set in Spectrum?

Imagine an Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem arena tour next year tho.

some of the views on Reflektor o_O

Great album, not their best but its nowhere near the levels of average being described here.  For me its Suburbs - Funeral - Reflektor - Neon Bible.

No disrespect to neon bible, its still a fantastic album.

horses for courses of course but it baffles me that anybody can put Funeral anywhere other than first. absolute masterpiece of an album. modern classic

Funeral - The Suburbs - Neon Bible - Reflektor for me

like many i kind of hope they leave behind the 'party' atmosphere of Reflektor. live it was tremendous, but on the album it kind of pissed me off
