Zoo Music Girl
The Funeral stuff sat perfectly alongside the Refkletor stuff at the secret gigs. Really worked exceptionally well and didn't sound remotely dated in my opinion.
CHRLY
Yeh the funeral stuff sounded better than ever, like last tour sprawl II was always a crowd favourite but I reckon that's a pretty reflektorey song

Lubic
Funeral> Suburbs> Reflektor> Bible I don't think any of their albums are quite perfect but they always have enough standout tracks to make me think im listening to something great. And the fact they are outstanding live is the icing on t'cake. I think Suburbs would almost tie with Funeral for me if they'd trimmed a few tracks from it

theDandy
Funeral > The Suburbs > Neon Bible > Reflektor So far that would be mine, the length of Reflektor is a bit too much, given it is only 10 minutes or so longer than the Suburbs. Funeral is the only album for me where nearly every track is perfect on it, the other three albums have tracks which I would think they could have left out, especially Reflektor, track lengths too long too, however I do really like the album! Funeral still the best by far for me though, live though every song sounds brilliant so it won't matter!
zero000
Funeral > Neon Bible > Reflektor > The Suburbs The Suburbs is great but if feels bloated, even in comparison to Reflektor which is longer.
FloorFiller
for me it's Funeral > the rest Funeral is miles apart from the other stuff and is perfect from start to finish. the other three all have their huge highs but then a couple of lows as well (nothing awful / that i skip every time; just noticeably weaker tracks). now that Reflektor's settled in i'd probably rank it about the same as The Suburbs and Neon Bible. guess it just depends what mood i'm in for where the three of them rank

Lubic
For me, about half of Neon Bible ain't that interesting. While The Suburbs also has such tracks, I can trim those away and still be left with a superb 12 track album, or a 10 track comparable to Funeral imo. While The Suburbs also has such tracks, I can trim those away and still be left with a superb 12 track album, or a 10 track comparable to Funeral imo. this is kinda how i feel. there are some songs on Neon Bible that, despite having listened to numerous times, i couldn't sing along to / hum the melody to if you asked me (although it's definitely my least listened to of their albums so that also has something to do with it). but yeah, with The Suburbs you could get rid of the 'bad' songs and still be left with a fantastic full length, whereas with Neon Bible, cut down the fat and you're left with quite a short (yet really fucking fantastic) album (or EP)
Tuna
"Trimming off the fat" on the Suburbs, for me, leaves a shorter album than doing so with Neon Bible
kingcrawler
Funeral > The Suburbs > Reflektor > Neon Bible Funeral is definitely my favourite. The Suburbs doesn't really have any outstanding songs but there aren't any bad ones either, when listened to in full it's greater than the sum of it's parts as it flows really well. Agree with what others are saying about Neon Bible having quite a few duller songs, though it's still a good album.
LondonTom
so funeral is their worst album you think?? NURSE! Well out of the first 3 it ended up being the last one I discovered. So I dunno its never seemed to have that magic that everyone else seems to have with it. (I actually started off with The Surburbs, not sure why I hadn't listened to them before that.) It's not that I dislike it, I actually like it alot. As I said for me the order changes depending on mood.

Yesiamaduck
Neon Bible is easily my second favourite. Really don't get all the negativity about it! It plays out like an album that was made by musicians who were told what Arcade Fire sound like without actually listening to Arcade Fire... in that all the focus is on the quirks that made Funeral stand out and nothing else but that. As a result it's exhausting, doesn't help the mix/production is awful as well... it's exhausting to listen to especially on headphones. Some great songs though and they work much better live but the album sounds pretty pants.
FloorFiller
to me Neon Bible sounded like a totally streamlined version of themselves - all the quirks and spark that made Funeral stand out removed with just their basic sound remaining. songs sounded simpler, safer and didn't make you think 'wow' like Funeral did (apart from No Cars Go which still to this day has that effect on me). since i got into Arcade Fire quite late on i discovered both of these albums at the same time. listened to Funeral first, thought 'this is amazing', then moved on to Neon Bible and thought 'oh, they've lost it', and whilst 'they've lost it' might be a bit much, it was immediately noticeable as a weaker albu

FloorFiller
And what are your thoughts on Reflektor? i'm still pretty torn about it - i think my expectations got the better of me more than any other album in recent history so it could never live up to them, and so i'll always see it as a bit of a disappointment, but not nearly as bad as i initially thought. the second disc has grown on me massively recently, so much so that i think Awful Sound to Supersymmetry may be the best run of songs they've done since Funeral. first disc has an awful lot of 'take it or leave it' moments though

Festiboi69
Its funny to think that they started to headline when theyre (from what it seems) lesser liked albums came out, although theres too many different opinions to really back that point up. Anyway, mine would be funeral > neon bible = suburbs > reflektor
