Owen as in Owen Pallett?

I love Owen Pallett... I might get lynched here for saying such a thing but I think his stuff is more interesting den da fire and it's a shame they lost him so early on (though I'm not sure if he was ever a permanent member)

Yep, Owen Pallett. If you said you found anyone more interesting, that's one of the best choices. To be fair, he wouldn't have brought out much of his own stuff if he was in permanently, don't know if he ever was but his inclusion for this year should be good.

They may just have eclipsed that today. Will and Owen's score for Her (which I just watched - stunning film) is up for an Oscar. Good on them.

Yeh haha!

Apparently it was really the whole band who did most of it but Will got credits cause he took over the production and stuff when they were short on time what with getting the album finished etc.

I think people saying what others should like is silly. :)

Owen Pallett has written a lot of the strings on all the albums, and is back as a full-time touring member of Arcade Fire. Hooray!

Yeah and little factoid he also did strings for Robbie Williams and Linkin Park yet he's STILL cool

He deserved the pay day and he's mesmerizing live so heres hoping to him toruing with Arcade Fire during the Glasto run so he can play there as well (he will have a new album to promote after all) :D

His cover of 'Odessa' by Caribou is spine tingling

That's amazing, never bothered listening to him but I might after that

Yeah, Owen said on his forum that he's back with the band for the full tour, and he'll be fitting in his own shows around their schedule the best he can.

So an Owen Pallett show Friday afternoon at Glasto is a great shout!!

  5. The Suburbs
  6. The Suburbs (Continued)

  9. Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)
  10. Haïti
  11. Normal Person
  12. Keep the Car Running
  13. Reflektor
  14. Rebellion (Lies)
  15. Here Comes the Night Time

wow, no No Cars Go or Intervention but they're playing Flashbulb Eyes!? fuck off. fuck off right now

gotta say, bit on an uninspiring setlist, and i really hope they switch it up a bit for Glastonbury

nice to see no Funeral songs have been sacrificed though

Aye it's not particularly great. No Laika either!

It does say "Note: possibly incomplete/incorrect" on the setlist fm entry, so hopefully it's a mistake!

think Laika was always going to be in for the chop. it's a shame but i'm not too surprised by it

not the greatest selection of Reflektor songs either. only Afterlife from disc 2? pfft

the omission of No Cars Go is what's shocked me the most, though. i realise they've been playing that song for 10+ years, but... it's No Cars Go!

Personally I'd rather No Cars Go/Laika over Haiti but they're never going to drop it, considering the influence their visit there had upon refelktor, plus Regine's connection etc...

yeah i really wish they'd drop Haiti but looks like they're just gonna keep peddling it out. this setlist has cemented one of my fears - that Arcade Fire have entered that dreaded stage of a career where they're having to cut great songs in favour of new not-so-great ones

that setlist is awfully short though and i'm sure they won't've gotten as long as they will at Glasto so i expect a few more songs to be added (No Cars Go and a couple of Reflektor songs)
