madferret7
I have been looking online to get some decent camping tips but they seem to state the bleeding obvious so just wondering if any Creamfields veterans have some ingenious advice to help us get set up and safe when we arrive in just two weeks time! Ill get the ball rolling: Camp on HIGH GROUND to avoid a repeat of last year or put your faith in to the new drainage system! Don't set up your tent near the toilets for obvious reasons - faeces and urine literally poured in to the tents at the bottom of Blue Camp Don't set up camp near a burger van - the generator kept me up most of the night never mind the rain! Get a DOUBLE skinned tent with a minimum waterproof rating of 2000mm - took a 1500mm pop up last year and got soaked! Don't leave a gap next to your tent - we had people walking through our set up area last year Get there EARLY! We arrived at 4pm last year and had to make do with a bad spot Carry as little as possible - the walk from the entrance to the camp site was torture through that mud Don't waste your money on the trolleys to carry your stuff - they didn't work through the mud and heard of some getting stolen hence deposit lost! Bin bags and gaffer tape are essentials! If your in a group, camp with your tents facing one another in a circle like the native Americans did. When you're heading down to the arenas, put your camping chairs in your tent (in a big bag in your tent!) Also make a note of where you have camped by looking at surrounding tents, distinctive features, where the path is etc. Keep valuables on you at all times, even when going to the dreadful toilets! ......... Captain_Buns
The place wasn't muddy at the start last year. The mud only started being a problem when the heavens opened just before Avicii came on & the down pour continued the rest of the night. Fri-Sat afternoon mud was not an issue apart from around the main pathways obviously. The more footfall there is, the worse the mud will be.
