out of date passport =/= id because, well it says it in the title. oh and as for fake id, good luck with that they have holographic scanners to check if its real, so don't bother.

if you're underage then just don't bother. you can enjoy it without getting pissed. simples.

They'll ask you if youre obviously not 18. Certain staff will ask you even if you do. If you get turned down just try another bar. And bullshit I'd's won't work.

Just out of interest, what do you mean an out of date passport? As in somebody else's old passport? Surely it'll have a pic on it? Them seeing its not you would probably mean they wouldn't accept it

Fair enough cheers fellers, and its really old the lad is like 11 in the picture so it means i don't have to look that much like it i always use the excuse of 'i use it because my up to date one is too valuable to lose so i don't bring it out'. works in all the local pubs and shops.

Legally speaking you can't use out of date passports as a form of ID anywhere - it's probably okay in your local but I'd say they wouldn't allow it at Reading, sorry

Everywhere was super strict on ID last year. I got mine checked at the arena bar, by the guys selling crates outside the site and for cigarettes. And I'm 32.

We gave all of ours to my 19 year old brother and our 16 year old bodybuilder friend (who looks about 25) on our way in last year and they didn't even seem to look at it, nevermind check for glass (which one of us had) or check ID, and my brother looks about 17.

Obviously this is only one person's experience, and by the sounds of it they are normally stricter. I think they were just letting everyone in as quickly as possible at this point as it was so busy.

I never got IDd coming in last year (I was 17 and looked younger) but the guy checking did a thorough search on me. He opened my rucksack, took everything out, opened my sleeping bag out of its bag and even opened up my kag-in-a-bag.
