mrtourette
What about Brixton?
TheSilence
Oh right, they're more popular than I imagined then. Probably because they've been out the spotlight the last year. For a band that was only 2 or 3 years old, selling well at the O2 is a pretty big acheivement. You can't criticise them for not selling it out! Babyquack
What about Brixton? Sold out 2 nights at Brixton, which if coupled with The O2 must mean they're headline material everywhere in the UK.
dentalplan
I like how if a band doesn't sell every single ticket for a venue, they're not worthy of it.
Mash011
Any other potential step ups bar the Black Keys and maybe Florence? Suppose it all depends on future releases but I dunno who's got what in the pipeline Vampire Weekend will totally do it at some point if they manage to put out another album as good as Modern Vampires. mrtourette
What's being good got to do with it? For Vampire Weekend to do it they need to put out a load of singles like Cousins, not albums like Modern Vamipres.
Tobieski
I can't see vampire weekend ever headlining, they seem to have stagnated somewhat
Babyquack
I like how if a band doesn't sell every single ticket for a venue, they're not worthy of it. By that reckoning, someone like Royal Blood should play The O2 as I reckon they're good enough to play that kind of venue. Wouldn't sell out but surely by going by your reasoning, they must be worthy of it... If a band still had seated tickets available for every area of the venue and you could still get standing tickets, they clearly over-reached and weren't ready to play that size of venue. Is that not a logical stance to take? And I know this to be true for The Vaccines as I got my sister and her friends standing tickets from See on the day of the show. No that's not my reckoning at all. Also I would've thought selling the majority of tickets to a 20,000 venue was better than selling out Alexandra Palace. the wonderwhy
I can't see vampire weekend ever headlining, they seem to have stagnated somewhat Not really, they've done their first arena tour off the back of Modern Vampires and have effectively moved up a slot at R&L this year. They're just not very prolific tourers over here, so it gives the impression they haven't progressed. I think they're on for headlining, but I agree they need to be putting out more singles like A-Punk, Cousins and Diane Young.
rawaudioinput
Apparently for The Vaccines at The O2 a lot of the seating was curtained off, I think the standing sold out in the end though; Vampire Weekend's seating was curtained off too although I don't think the standing sold out if I remember correctly If I'm honest I don't think The Vaccines will play in 2015; I think if they're going to take the headline slot that they want they're going to need the momentum of the new album firmly behind them and I don't think R&L would risk booking them as a headliner on an album that might not do as well as expected
hamishrankin
Can't ever see Vampire Weekend headlining, just not recognised enough, i know one of their songs, however they managed to play at the hydro (the biggest indoor music venue in Scotland)

Andre91
Foos for T and Download next year I'm saying. I used to think that after 2012, The Vaccines would be headlining the next time they played at R&L, but I can't see it now. I think they will sub the next time they play, and then go on to headline after that. Since they debuted and had all the hype surrounding them, there's been bands like Bastille, The 1975 and Royal Blood now who are just as hyped as The Vaccines were. It's whether or not people will care about them as much anymore when they bring the third album out.
rawaudioinput
Considering how Melody Calling did, probably not that much
Muppetmark
There were hundreds of tickets available at 6 quid for standing for the vaccines the week of the O2 show
VCK
The Vaccines will probably be at V, I think.
Babyquack
You've definitely looked far too much into what he was saying I do do that a lot haha No that's not my reckoning at all. Also I would've thought selling the majority of tickets to a 20,000 venue was better than selling out Alexandra Palace. You're right I guess - I do still think they totally over-reached playing the biggest arena in the country. The same goes for Two Door last year. Babyquack
Didn't Two Door sell it out? I don't think so as I was still contemplating getting a ticket the week of the show but decided against it as it was my father's birthday and there were still tickets on See but for the life of me, I don't remember if there were standing or how many areas of seated you could choose from left. Chavmeisterdeluxe
Two door wasn't sold out, 90% full at least though. I was surprised as I'm not a huge fan, just had a mate with a spare ticket, I was expecting huge blocks of seats empty but it really was full. Tobieski
If Two Door have a new album out before next years festival they'll sub
TheSilence
They'd sub now. Beacon wasn't out when they played in '12, it was just upcoming, I think they'd defo sub now.
