Biffy won't headline Glastonbury on the third year of Opposites.

QOTSA are finishing the Like Clockwork tour in October and Foos are expensive so either would be unlikely for Soni.

I don't think any of those Download headers will come off either: BFMV aren't big enough, Slipknot would be offensively soon and if Pearl Jam didn't play this year, I don't think they're ever going near Download or heavy festivals.

I'd agree with Muse and FM for Glastonbury, and the IOW, T and R+L headliner sets look about right.

Glasto is always a difficult one so wasn't sure about that.

Agreed on the Queens comment but i could see soni snapping up foo's depending on what other festivals go for. If soni can afford metallica, iron maiden and prodigy they can afford foos, can see Dave wanting to play knebworth too having never done so. If not i can't see room in the market for soni and download next year. There just doesn't seem to be enough bands to headline both that'll be around next year.

Are Iron Maiden and Metallica not really big bands?

Foo Fighters are bigger & more mainstream & probably cost more. All Metallica can really do in the UK is Download and Soni (yes they did Glastonbury but that's different) where as Foos can play pretty much all the major UK fests.

Just out of curiosity gathered from reading the last few pages, why exactly was RHCP's headline set in 07 so catastrophic?

Kiedis jumped on a cable which fucked their sound, they didn't play a selection of hits and they finished the set with a colossal jam.

I think it was also the fact JF and AK looked like they didn't want to be there and AK's voice was fucked then. I Read somewhere that they said themselves the Live Earth show to the end of the SA tour was their worst period performance wise. Even though they've been great the 2 times I've seen them they definitely seem to be a hit and miss live act; Watched the Lollapalooza proshot from Chile this year and it was pretty bad.

Metallica are definitely bigger than Foos, and they can easily play R&L, I have no idea what you're trying to say

They basically didn't play any hits. They didn't just finish the set with a jam either, they probably spent more time jamming than playing songs.

It's not really important but I'd strongly disagree with that.

I'd strongly disagree with your strong disagreement

Seriously though, if you look purely at the demographic festivals here aim at, I'd agree Foos are more popular, but on the whole, worldwide etc. Metallica are surely the bigger band in general?
