#FreeComTruise
Are they as big as The 1975 this time last year though? I wasn't at The 1975 set last year or the Catfish this year, but The 1975 was rammed the 1975 packed out FR last year, was impossible to get in, at Leeds anyway
justanothername
Really? I do remember my mates telling me that they didn't like The 1975 as much as it was so busy. Anyway I don't think they're as big as The 1975 were last year. Could see them playing high NME but not sub (especially if Royal Blood is an idea being tossed about as a sub for NME)
JonSnuh
Catfish was nowhere near as packed as the 1975 last year. My friend was at the back and still had plenty of room this year but last year we couldn't get in the tent for the 1975

GodlikeYeezus
Is there any chance of an Avenged Sevenfold sub? I can't see it but don't think it would be too bad a booking.
justanothername
It'll be easier to predict when we see how well their album sells It will sell well, but it won't sell as well as The 1975 debut did and they won't sub the NME for sure. I don't think there is much competition for them anyway that week anyway

My thinking as to why they wouldn't is if it cheapens them in the eyes of Download (I remember reading something about Copping saying that with reference to System last year). Otherwise I could definitely see it happening.

I don't know as they might not want to weaken their headline status but then again they could only headline Download and Soni (not too sure if they'd want them either) so they may go for it. Also on that thought, Avenged Sevenfold had a top 10 album in the last year and they're not regulars (they defiantly have guitars too) but I don't think it will be them though so just ignore that Edited August 28, 2014 by justanothername
dentalplan
Would people consider Chvrches a NME sub? Because it was played up as one until we saw the set lengths. Their album didn't set the world alight commercially.

They had loads of COD Black Ops zombie songs so reckon they still target the group of dickhead chavs who buy a tickets if they know two or three songs ahahahah

To be honest I'm not a big fan of Avenged but by judging from what my mate said and from what I seen from live footage I'd actually be pretty happy with them being booked. But I doubt it is going to happen though

Sub would be a push but never a headline.

the wonderwhy
It surprises me how little I drink at Reading to be honest. I got wrecked in the (Bread and Roses?) bar in White on Thursday but other than that it was just a few cans every now and then rather than getting hammered every night. Andre91
I get absolutely done in on Wednesday and Thursday, and then take it steady for the rest of the weekend as I'm there to enjoy watching music. I would happily not drink a drop all weekend. In fact I didn't on the Friday this year.

mattgimmeshelter
got extremely drunk thursday night wasn't too bad friday, but I was out pretty late.. so I was still feeling grim in the morning Saturday night was the drunkest i've been in ages, remember wandering through purple on the way to brown at 5am watching it slightly getting light... place looked like a battlefield. Sunday, finished alcohol, but sobered up quite early. youth culture Edited August 28, 2014 by mattgimmeshelter

justanothername
I think I drunk every night but varying levels. I nearly didn't get drunk on Friday but I drank my drink late then went back to my tent and sang The Wonder Years songs for a while instead of going to bed. Sunday was the worst, went to Relentless with my mates and lost them instantly as I needed to take a piss so the DJ caravan near started playing Blink so I stayed as it was my kind of stuff and I remember seeing my mate during Downfall of Us All and when it had finished I meet some people to find some "metalz" but ended up in yellow camp an hour and half later then I finally got to my tent at around 5:30 where someone else was there and encouraged me to stay up as there was no point going to bed. rivalschools.price
I usually managed to do both, get totally drunk out of my mind and watch loads of bands. It backfired on me this year though as I was so pissed up on Friday that I cant remember watching QOTSA despite being in the second row from the front. Gutted. My mates had to keep convincing me that I watched them but I could barely remember a thing. Luckily they had video evidence so I had to believe them. Drunk slightly less on Saturday and Sunday(though I would like to have forgotten the 20 minutes of Jake Bugg I watched before going to see Band of Skulls)
