Gucci Piggy
Maybe Muse are like Paramore and the record label wanted Matt as a solo artist but thought it would be cooler to have him as a band instead.
the wonderwhy
Aren't these German/Austrian festivals part owned by AEG? Wonder if Metallica will end up doing Hyde Park
5co77ie
Aren't these German/Austrian festivals part owned by AEG?nope they partner with AEG in Verescon AG (the name stands for Venue Research Consulting) which is a consulting body on venues, its owners and operators. Other than that they are stand alone
Gucci Piggy
With the Glastonbury possibilities increasing by the day, maybe Flo will be here as our new headliner. She seems the most suitable to take that spot, but I was thinking she'd be at Glastonbury instead. Linkin Park Florence (maybe co-headline with The Prodigy?) Tobieski
I wish I actually bothered leaving this section so I knew what was happening in the world of other festivals
lemonu54
Probably been discussed but what do people think about the chances of RHCP headlining would be? And also, do you think it would go down well?

And also, do you think it would go down well?Prob not & no, unless teenagers don't know how badly 2007 went. Fortunately I only wanted to see Kate Nash & Bloc Party so sold my ticket. Gucci Piggy
Probably been discussed but what do people think about the chances of RHCP headlining would be? And also, do you think it would go down well? Think it's quite likely. They sold lots of tickets for IOW last year, have a new album coming out, and they appeal to the broad range of rock-music-liking-teenagers in the same way that the likes of Green Day, Foo Fighters and Blink-182 do. I also think that if R&L want them they won't have much trouble getting them. They don't seem the type of band V and TITP would go for anymore, they won't be booked for Glastonbury, and I think they'd opt for R&L over Download/Soni. Plus they haven't been announced for any of the early Summer fests in Europe, so if they're around it's likely to be late Summer. The only thing making it less likely is the fact that they were awful last time they played, but the general consensus is that they've improved as a live band since then, and FR invited Blink, Arctic Monkeys and Paramore back after their awful sets. Actually, in writing this half-asleep-coffee-and-red-bull-binge-fuelled-last-minute-essay-all-nighter-post I've convinced myself that it's going to happen. I am now Matt42 I think. mrtourette
I was going to post the same thing but I think they meant headline a festival (R&L) and then move onto headlining the 2nd stage (T) at festival in general rather than those specific two.So not a similar situation at all then. Gucci Piggy
Linkin Park announced for an American festival early Summer. Looks like that rumour about them playing a European festival in August is probably correct.
sjseabass
Sadly, I imagine I know the answer to this already, but do you think there's any way I could get in to the Biffy gig for Relentless at the Troxy with someone else's ticket? My friend whose name will be on the tickets can't go any more. Would be a shame if they go to waste :/

Would be a shame if they go to waste :/ I've heard of some tix agents in the past who can arrange for someone to go to the box office on the night and swap the tix/let you in when it's a name on tix type gig if you contact them in advance and explain the situation but it really depends on the specific set up. It's worth a shot anyway. Edited November 6, 2014 by jump
sjseabass
It's a girl, so I think the fake ID thing might be a struggle . Yeah, I'll definitely get her to give them a ring. Basically she was going to go with a friend for her birthday, but anyone interested in accompanying her has ditched her to the point where she asked if I wanted to go (we met volunteering at Reading this year - tenuous link to the thread topic! - and have met up once since then, so not exactly BFFs). Was halfway through sorting how we could manage to attend - I was happy to book a hotel and everything - she was just like 'nah, actually I don't want to go at all now'. But she would give me the tickets if she could. But she can't. Women

dentalplan
Linkin Park subbed by Smashing Pumpkins in eFestivals shocker That wouldn't be a shock. Smashing Pumpkins have been discussed and that one-two was suggested a couple of pages ago. It's when jokers think Portishead are gonna sub Blink-182 that people are dismissive.
