TheSilence
If you're going based on the last two years then yeah, early December. My prediction is Linkin Park are likely and probably will be the first announcement. Followed by The Prodigy in Feb and Chilis in March. Linkin Park Smashing Pumpkins BMTH The Prodigy Two Door Cinema Club Lana Del Rey RHCP Alt-J Royal Blood
Gucci Piggy
Metallica... Surely they won't play Knebworth again? Was ignoring bands coming over early Summer. Reckon they'll more likely do Wembley or something like that.
kaosmark2
That won't happen. Even ignoring the fact that they're all shite now (and one was from the start), those headliners are dinosaurs. There will be at least one that's vaguely relevant this century. TheSilence
So who are we actually seeing as the more likely possibilities now? Early Europe announcements have probably limited it somewhat... Linkin Park The Prodigy Red Hot Chili Peppers Florence and the Machine The Libertines Who else we got? Are The Strokes ruled out again? Would be a weak headliner to be fair. KOL always seem to be touring What's Damon Albarn up to next year?

There's like twenty or more acts that could feasibly headline. Those five are just the most predicted.

Even ignoring the fact that they're all shite now (and one was from the start), those headliners are dinosaurs. There will be at least one that's vaguely relevant this century. I'm now thinking Linkin Park, Florence and RHCP. Perhaps Flo co-headlining with The Prodigy. Are The Strokes ruled out again? Would be a weak headliner to be fair. KOL always seem to be touring What's Damon Albarn up to next year? No idea about The Strokes, but I don't think there's anything to suggest they'll be around. Meh KOL would be an awful choice, possible though I guess. God knows about Damon, but he's said there'll be new Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad and The Queen album coming, but not committed to a Blur album, so I guess the first two are priorities right now. Yeah I know, hence why I said "more likely possibilities". Those were just the ones I could think of right now, hence the "Who else we got?" Agreed about KOL. Has Flo been ruled out of Glasto yet? Not that it would affect her chances of playing R&L too obviously. Her co-headlining with The Prodigy seems alright and would be a pretty good booking I guess. The Gorillaz could also headline I guess depending on what he's doing with them but that's unlikely too. kaosmark2
I really hope co-headlining doesn't become a thing, but if it does, I hope they at least use 2 "step-up" acts as opposed to borderline outdated acts like The Prodigy. I disagree. Having a shitty coheadline slot for new headliners is a cop out of actually promoting headliners. I don't think it'll become a thing anyway - I'm pretty sure they wanted both Queens and Paramore to headline and weren't expecting to get both and that's why it happened. I'd rather two acts way past significance coheadlined.

Gucci Piggy
Oh, and why is everyone so convinced of Linkin Park? Because they're w*nk enough to do it. Nah they just fit a couple of Melvin's clues (guitar band, not a regular, had a top 10 album in the last year) and they're supposedly playing a European festival in August. They've also now been announced for an American festival in early Summer so that adds credence to the Europe in August thing.
