TenInchToenaiIs
Pete Doherty on Radio 1 on Thursday with new material. Dunno if it's solo or Libertines. Hope he's releasing his weird rapping song that was demoes online a couple years ago
Jaack28
What The Possibility Metallica Libs/Mumford (co headline) Red Hot Chili Peppers Melvin did love the co headline last year plus that would be a pretty strong line up
FloorFiller
neither Libertines or Mumfords need to co-headline - they're both pretty strong headliners themselves
Gucci Piggy
Libertines could co-headline, I'm sure. Mumford wouldn't, though, I don't think.

Gucci Piggy
i cant see how people are thinking that M&S are a 'strong' headliner Because they're the most popular band who have a chance of headlining this year.
FloorFiller
I dunno if Libertines are really. maybe not the strongest but at Reading/Leeds i bet they'd be a lot of people's big headliner - plus, they were already a special guest to Arcade Fire in 2010. i doubt they want to be anything less than stand alone headliner this time round (although i suppose co-headline isn't totally out of the question - i wouldn't be shocked if it happened, anyway)
conroy17
aaaaaaaaages ago I guessed that it would be a libertines/vaccines co-headliner no chance vaccines will be big enough to co-headline but be quite funny if were right I also guessed metallica and muse back then so 1 right, 1 wrong
dentalplan
What's changed since then regarding The Vaccines? I think they'd be a pretty weak headliner but viable. Regarding acts that are 'too strong to coheadline' - I think it's largely down to what their management would agree to rather than the size of the band or whatever. I think (eg.) Mumfords as a newer headliner would be more likely to accept it than an a band that have picked up headline slots for years like Linkin Park. Bisque
Mumfords I think are outright headliners. Florence will be after headlining glastonbury. The Libertines/The Prodigy co-headlining wouldn't be too crazy an idea as The Prodigy subbed AM & will only ever headline now after Download Florence could be a goer. Edit: forgot IoW has been announced! Edited January 20, 2015 by Couchy
the wonderwhy
I found some photos of Libs and Pete recording stuff (have to scroll down for Pete) last summer if anyone is remotely interested http://diary.clouds-hill.com/
Yellow_Fellow
a special guest to Arcade Fire in 2010.but that's not true

mrtourette
except that it isTechnically, but you use special guest like it means something. They subbed, and despite all the fanboy conspiracy theories like "they were the real headliners but they only subbed because they weren't sure Pete would turn up and they wouldn't risk a headliner not performing", they were still the subs. conroy17
not that I think that there will be a co-headliner but if there is pick 2 of these the libertines, the vaccines, the strokes, Florence and the machine, foals, jack white kings of leon? mumford and sons? both too 'established' as headliners to stoop down to a 'co' status imo can't see the prodigy or the black keys doing it seeing as they're both headlining IoW

dentalplan
I think Win called it a double bill in the press. Dunno though - who cares? Also I hope Melvin logs onto eFestivals and tells everyone there's three headliners and to shut the hell up.

abcdefg
neither Libertines or Mumfords need to co-headline - they're both pretty strong headliners themselves Wasn't the idea behind Queens and Paramore was that they both got offered it and wanted to do it so only then went with the coheadline? I don't think a coheadline means an act are lesser than an outright headliner
mrtourette
I think that was a convenient alternative explanation to them both being slightly lower profile than a legit headliner. If only one was available then maybe they would have been given the gig on their own, but as both were it was a handy safety net.

I don't think a coheadline means an act are lesser than an outright headliner Yes but clearly when they ended up with 4 headliners they had to choose which 2 of them would co-headline. If they end up in that situation again this year it's unlikely Mumford would be asked to co-head. Although in that Metallica/RHCP/Libs/Mumford set posted above they probably would.
