I'm preparing for disappointment among the ranks, but I actually quite like Linkin Park. Granted their 4th album is utter shit and anything since, while better pales in comparison to their first 3 albums (although the first hasn't aged all that well) I actually think they'd be pretty fun live. That's coming from someone that hasn't seen them though.

they were great fun at the o2, would be really happy for them to be at Reading. Id love Libs/metallica/linkin park.

I would be surprised if they aren't the February announcement, if they have booked them I would imagine they would want the name out there as soon as they could

I don't really think they'll be doing R/L, but it remains within the possibles.

yep - Mumfarts.

I'm confident enough in that that I'd risk a fiver - tho I wouldn't risk too much more (I'd do £50 on Libs). It might be wrong, but there's enough to suggest it's probably right.

i'd be shocked if Libertines and Mumfords aren't the other headliners. i thought ages ago that Mumfords would headline when they came off their hiatus, and The Libertines headlining seemed fairly obvious since they reformed; as if R/L was ever gonna miss that opportunity after they went down so well in '10

that rumour definitely came from here didn't it? it looked a bit likely but what with Metallica as one of the headliners, no way will Linkin Park also be there (as a headliner, or as a sub - that's just ridiculous)

It definitely came from here, I don't know if it was ever any more likely than everyone was convincing themselves it was, was there every anything to back up the rumours? Metallica The Libertines and Mumford will sell a shit load of tickets in my opinion

I first mentioned it because I'd read on a European festival site that a ticketing website accidentally made it knowledge they'd be about in August or something. It was very tenuous and to date they're still not announced for anything in Europe but at that point we didn't have any rumours or anything.

Definitely would be one of the stronger line ups from previous years, I don't like to jump on the band wagon but a strong nme headliner or refused playing the pit up against Mumford and sons and it would be a really brilliant weekend for headliners

I'm hoping to be (happily) surprised by the subs (Kendrick Lamar, The Smashing Pumpkins, Jack White, Noel Gallagher) but more realistically I think we'll probably get three of The Vaccines / Alt-J / FOB / Two Door Cinema Club

They have just released a new album and are doing an eight date arena tour in October where they had to add a second Wembley arena date due to the first selling out in minutes. They also subbed Download last year, so I think that subbing is where they would play.
