How many venues are bigger than Brixton but not MUCH bigger than Brixton? And is two nights at Brixton the equivalent of one night at these bigger but not MUCH bigger venues?

I would say most of the recent Nme headliners have been around Brixton academy size, a couple have played their own bigger shows and a couple played the O2

I know it's not a MASSIVE difference, and selling two nights out probably is ruining my point.

Yeah the point is that there is no set pattern, even band x selling out a venue and band y not doing so means very little due to multiple factors that affect sales at a specific venue.

I know they're playing IOW and subs have probably been booked but just putting it out there that they have cancelled their European tour so could play a sub spot if there is any open to make up for the cancelled arena tour, I would assume the people going to watch them would want to see them so could be a good opportunity. If not could mean more sales for IOW on the day they play.

Hmm, it's bit of a strectch to think that they're going to want to make up for cancelling their UK tourdates by subbing R&L, especially when they're already headlining IOW and all their other European festival dates are at the start of the Summer.

I think the shows were selling badly anyway so I don't imagine it'll drive up the IOW sales that much. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't an injury.
