Anyone know any good new bands that are likely to come through and pop up on FR or NME? We don't have a thread for that this year and too late to start one so somebody tell me.

No Bearfur please.

I don't know if he'll pop up anywhere here because I've seen next to no press on him, but I think Babyquack recommended Reignwolf while at Werchter, and he was seriously good. He has a debut out hopefully relatively soon, so maybe one to watch in general?

Oh yeah I remember him. He played the John Peel at Glastonbury and I was looking forward to him but didn't wake up in time. I'll check that album out when it's around.

Milk Teeth will probably be on The Pit/FR, was meant to see them tonight but decided Netflix and ice cream was a better plan

Apparently it was a struggle booking the FR stage last year, I can't see it being much different for 2015

Hey, these seem really good! Netflix was a bad choice.

what do you mean by neg

Negative vote/thumb down/dislike etc... because you're just coming on here to get a free ticket while we get nothing in return whatsoever and considering that eFestivals gets money from tickets purchased via links on their website and helps to keep this site running it isn't right for people to come on here asking to buy tickets off them so they can go free

I think RW will have the strongest lineup of any festival this year by the way it's shaping up.

RW looks bland as hell wtf

Tbf, it's not bland as fuck but it's not overly strong this year compared to many years gone past.

I think it was you Dental that originally put me on to him as you said he sounded a bit like Jack White I think. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed him at Werchter and would definitely recommend catching him live

Tbf is it pretty bland. Kasabian, Foos, Muse, Noel Gallagher, Alt-J, Florence, Royal Blood, Ben Howard, Rise Against, Hozier; all the same stuff you see spread acoss two or three UK festivals and many other European ones. Primavera has interesting bookings, Werchter doesn't, however that isn't necessarily a bad thing for a lot of people. What it lacks in that department it makes up for in the ability to pull together so many acts that you wouldn't get on the same bill in the UK (hence the perceived 'strength'). If blockbuster acts are your thing, then Werchter certainly provides good value for money.

And no Lenny Kravitz does not count as 'interesting'.

QFT.

Although Lenny Kravitz was entertaining the year I went to Werchter.

The Vaccines are headlining Liverpool Sound City; thought they'd only be at major fests this year

Does this cast doubt on them taking a major slot at R&L at all?

No (although it depends on what you define as a 'major' slot). It's too obvious that a band like them will do Glasto and R&L/V (and probably also T) in an album year.
