justanothername
its also interesting that they dont say the 'final headliner' its the next headline announcement You're like an English teacher who will read into a piece of text too much to find the hidden message that isn't there and then teach it to you so that you have something different put in your exam compared to everyone else in the country Edited February 21, 2015 by justanothername
TheSilence
To be fair, imagery and metaphors are used in pretty much all pieces of literature so that comparison is a bit shit.
JSmurphy
I remember last year R&L tweeted / FB'd around a week or so before the third announcement something along the lines of 'this year we're giving you four' so i'm pretty sure they'd be trying to sell their co-headline spots if it were true. justanothername
To be fair, imagery and metaphors are used in pretty much all pieces of literature so that comparison is a bit shit. Maybe there is a hidden meaning in my thing too! But to be fair I know that there are most of the time but then sometimes is is just pure bs, which is something my English teacher confirmed to me

Gucci Piggy
It's an amusing remark that brings a great fuzzy joy to all the eFests R&L community.
Mezhyp1
Cause they're co-headlining with The Prodigy. You might not be a million miles away, despite the potential sarcasm
Gucci Piggy
You might not be a million miles away, despite the potential sarcasm It was actually supposed to be disguised as sarcasm but with potential to make me a new gazza if it happened, what with Libs co-headlining T (or is Avicii just a closing act, not a headliner?) and Prodge co-headlining IOW and being 2nd stage at T, and being available on the Sunday. I don't think it'll happen but I threw it out in slight hope. ALSO the reasoning people are discussing this is because they said "third headliner" rather than "final headliner", yeah? Even if there were 4 headliners that wouldn't make sense as both would be announced on Tuesday. So yeah not happening.
DomDom1984
Avicii is a headliner.

Bisque
Avicii is a headliner. ROFL
Matt42
Hypothetically is there a 'realistic' band (which if they were booked to headline) would completely put you off the festival for life? As said - Avicii would be mine, It'd take them someone like Pearl Jam to be booked for me to even consider returning, Avicii is the worst thing I can even imagine. Goes beyond liking it ironically... Gucci Piggy
I don't think I could ever understand the thought process of someone who'd say yes to that question. Avicii would put you off for life, but if Pearl Jam were booked the following year you'd return? Nice.
JSmurphy
Going to Wireless on the day Avicii is headlining but will stay well clear. I can't really see one act making lose interest in any festival though.
DomDom1984
One headliner to put someone off for life. Behave.

Avicii would put you off for life, but if Pearl Jam were booked the following year you'd return? Nice. It'd definitely signify that R&L was no longer for me... unless they went back on that booking by booking bands like Pearl Jam in the future. That's what I meant. One headliner to put someone off for life. Behave. So Drake, Avicii and Coldplay wouldn't make you think "nah reading's not for me anymore"
JSmurphy
Avicii is never going to headline tho

But nice to see you shift the goalposts to make it three headliners now.
Bisque
Wouldn't put me off going but there are plenty better DJs I'd rather see. I guess Calvin Harris is now grouped in with DJs like Avicii & Guetta.
#FreeComTruise
its also interesting that they dont say the 'final headliner' its the next headline announcement The third wave of acts is nearly here, including our final headliner…
Mezhyp1
I never thought I would see the day Avicii was mentioned in a discussion about reading festival, in any way or another I still fully expect it to be The Libertines headlining outright, would rather The Prodigy to sub Metallica personally
#FreeComTruise
would rather The Prodigy to sub Metallica personally My mate's agreed to get a day ticket for Metallica with me depending on the rest of the lineup so that'd be great, not really expecting anyone that big though. Still think it might be BMTH, although dental will argue against that til the very end
