purplebenny
Would the Libertines not be an extremly weak headliner?.. Haven't exactly done much since the last time they Headlined.. Surely theyd be more suiting to subbing or 3rd down... louis19
They subbed in 2010 and had a big crowd and with hyde park last year and headlining T i cant see them playing as a sub let alone 3rd down

Surely theyd be more suiting to subbing or 3rd down...They've never headlined
dentalplan
Because the people who run the site have some solid info and are 99% sure they're headlining Probably not the best time to reel that one out. Still gonna be them though.
Mezhyp1
Can anyone explain in a nutshell to me why everyone is so sure that the next headliner is Libertines? imo I think it would be quite a weak headliner, overrated to be honest. Your opinion doesn't reflect the festivals booking policies though, they've played to massive crowds in the past at R/L and a lot of hype around them just now and Neil who runs the website, has the information to suggest they are definitely headlining
Often Smashing Pumpkins
Has the instagram post been discussed on here? The three objects are probably to represent the 3 headliners. https://instagram.com/p/zcOcjLnWtF/?modal=true Edited February 23, 2015 by Often Smashing Pumpkins
tyranicide
My mistake there was an article that said they were headlining that was about his time in rehab. Daily Mail I think

Gucci Piggy
Never heard it called that yo. Haha to be fair neither have I. I was gonna say "Double bass - Mumford", then went on their wiki to check they actually had a double bass, and it was called string bass on there. purplebenny
Mumford's string bass player wears a trilby.. I'd imagine that's all It represents, especially as its placed on the bass.. Edited February 23, 2015 by purplebenny

samfeeley
Cardiff did not sell out full capacity, pretty sure it didn't sell out at all and my mate said they'd brought in all the stalls and put up curtains further into where the crowd normally go. They do it when tickets don't sell that well. Nine Inch Nails had the same. Bands do this kinda thing all the time, say a gig is sold out when it isn't but I knew his arena tour didn't do that well. Thankyou Mouseboy! Also The Cribs things was just a guess, I just phrased it wrong, they probably just meant the Festival Republic, they wouldn't headline Lock Up in a million years. It'd be an insult to Mike Davies.

Yeah very true, what makes me question whether the libertines are headlining is how R&L described the last headliner as 'world-renowned' and they were having a 'world exclusive interview' with them

samfeeley
Libs have shows in Europe, They'll call em world renowned because they're popular in Europe. Last year they referred to Jamie T as an arena act. Leeds like to bullshit.
u2du
Oh god yeah I remember how R+L described Jamie T as 'arena sized', PIxies just announced US tour dates for June, anyone think they could sub-headline?
