Lineup 2015

Aye but where can Foos realistically play unless Glasto decide they want them? Probably a bit too soon for R&L, and I doubt V will want them, and aside from those I think IOW would beat DL/Soni to them. Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian can play Glasto/V/R&L most years.

Don't know really, but I think Glastonbury will definitely get one, if not both of Muse and Foos. I could still see V Fest going for both personally. One could end up at IOW but they seem behind the pack at times when it comes to bookings. Having said that, RHCP looks to have been a very good booking, regardless of how their performance turns out.

It depends if Foos/Muse want to do other stuff, if they do IOW (and Glasto) have the upper hand because the likes of R&L, Download and V tend to want exclusives.

I think if RHCP put on a naff performance at IOW it'll put R&L off again. They'll probably go for one of the Killers or KOL again next week, always safe ticket shifters & haven't had either of them in a while.

Yeah I think Muse will be at Glasto. Dunno if they ever share headliners. Muse said they missed doing fests last year so I reckon they'll do them next year and no other outdoor shows. Probably fests and arenas in 2015 and stadiums in 2016.

Would R&L actually book RHCP after the last time? I'd be happy with them as I haven't seen them before.

Proven seller with a new album, I think so.

Jack White? Or is that wishful thinking?

I'd say RHCP sound like the obvious but not probably not gonna happen choice.

Yeah that's wishful thinking.

Don't know what you mean by the second bit.

Arctics aren't exclusives. Green Day weren't. They'll take an exclusive when they can but they'll allow for it, same as IOW.

Killers and KOL won't be in the mix for next year's festivals, surely. It'd be after four and two years respectively of festivals and outdoor shows. It'd be a disaster for whoever booked them and in R+L's case, I don't think they want them two anymore otherwise they'd have already swooped in.

That's why I said tend. Either way IOW have had a hell of a lot more non-exclusives than any other major festival.

Don't think it matter with KOL or The Killers. The last KOL tour lasted like 5 years.

That's no stronger a trio than any festival books any other year?

Mumford and sons most likely will be back after a hiatus

Arctic Monkeys will still have hype around them

Kasabian post glasto hype

it'd sell alot, and that's three of the UK's biggest bands in one weekend

I know. That doesn't suddenly make them massive. Their popularity will probably be lower than it was last year.

Arctic Monkeys will still have hype around them

Yes but they're still an act that play festivals most years, so there's nothing special about having an act of their size.

Kasabian post glasto hype

Kasabian will still be an average sized headliner.

There's no way in hell it's too strong to happen. Arctics/Stones/Mumford; Cure/Kasabian/Foos; Arctics/Coldplay/Foos; Prodigy/Metallica/Sabbath; Slipknot/Maiden/Rammstein; Prodigy/Maiden/Metallica. These are just about all as big as that trio.

I really do not think Mumford and sons are gonna decrease in size, I think that's just what you hope happens so you don't have to hear much from them again

they've got a strong following and a fanbase, they won't go away for a while.

why would the black keys play glasto two years in a row?

Well no I couldn't really care less. I hardly ever hear Mumford and Sons' music as I don't listen to the radio, so it really doesn't matter to me how big they are. I just don't think they're an act with lasting appeal. They're a shitty faux-folk band that will be nothing when that scene isn't fashionable any more.

Eventually it will happen, like every fad. Them intentionally going away for a couple of years gives off a signal that - as it continually does - music will change by the time they're back, so they'll have to either change their output up a bit or play the same style and hope that people are still interested.
