All I care about, but seriously why are alt-j so definite?

Nobody says they are 'definite' But they look the most likely thus far, and Efests still has them as A SR.

Theyre one of the only bands who are touring and who we can fathom why they'd be held back (just about)

Am I the only one that doesent see the hype about alt-j? I'm not too bothered because bizkit are on the same time. I just find alt-j so dull.

I personally prefer the Glasto lineup. Though Kendrick, Libs and a couple of others are good English exclusives for R&L.

Shikari said they were ONLY at download in the summer but now they've been announced for glasto, SHIKARI TO SUB.

They didn't say that, they're also at Nass festival and titp (I think) but they've said they're not at reading and there isn't really any room for them on the lineup anymore

The Prodigy are around. But considering they'd be wedged between Bastille and Mumfords and clash with Limpbizkit and RTJ. It would look quite daft.

Not only would the clash not make sense, but they have announced their tour- it's sold out, their new album is already out and they've announced festival dates around the globe, none of which would cause any implications for Melvin/ FR (like Alt-J, headlining latitude) so there's no reason why they wouldn't be already announced for Leeds.

They've always looked dull live to me too- then I watched them on the Coachella stream... ( but that was at night and darkness makes everyone better)

Prodge - they're around and touring but for reasons specified above- not looking likely

Bloc Party- new album? Won't be out in time though, I wouldn't have thought+ their size seems to have rapidly declined

Foals- new album? They're around but nothing in the UK yet- more chance they'll *gulp* co headline next year, if the album goes down well.

Snow Patrol- new album, good crossover with M&S but the album doesn't seems like it'll be out until the end of the year. Their drummer said they'll do a world tour next year so they will be back on UK festival bills then.

TDCC- new album but no information on it other than its due this year (been three years since Beacons) personally I think if they were about, they'd be doing T etc so it doesn't look like they're active... Unless the album comes out just in time for the festival- in that case are they a worthy sub? After all, the album could flop.

Can anyone think of anyone else?

i still think tdcc is a good option, i think they fit well inbetween mumfords and bastille and have a 3rd album due out soon, so for them to be held back until they announce the record or return or whatever makes sense. Plus they dropped out of latitude last year so this could be their replacement?

They're taking it "slow"... They said it'll be released this year- they've had a break. I can't see them being about though, because like you said- they'd have other dates which, atm, they have none.

I don't see the fest being so generous as it could potentially damage their sales. Though I'd hope there isn't anybody that'd buy a ticket based on wether The Vaccines play or not.
