Can see Deftones being snapped up by DL next year, subbing Tool...

There is that also yes, won't be Tool though. They have no real reason to come over for Download, they don't really need it as said before. Obviously it could happen but I'd have thought Andy would of got them by now.

2006 they headlined DL, this was also the year they released their last album.

2016 they're going to have a new album out by then. (They haven't really been active in between because of the hiatus and recording an album...)

Plus, a festival that's struggling for headliners and often books repeats, there's literally no reason why Andy wouldn't book Tool.

But this isn't the DL thread... Haha.

True so just on a last note, there isn't a reason why Andy wouldn't, it's more if Tool actually care.

If Slipknot headline R&L next year I see Deftones subbing them. If not then sure, Download.

SOAD & Slipknot co- headline... (As much as I despise the idea of co headlining, I'd love this haha)

We will see. IF SOAD get recording... And IF they get an album out... Maybe they could headline with Deftones subbing them. Either way, SOAD or Slipknot would be top draw.

If Tool get their album out, they'll want to tour it- worldwide. Considering they'd only take headline spots, what other UK Fest could they headline? Definitely not RandL, can you imagine announcement day... "Errm, what is a Tool?"

It'd be the easiest way to put me off that day at Reading that's for sure lol.

Obviously yes, a new album does give it does chance.

"We want Arctic Monkeys/ Killers/ blink 182. WHO THE HELL ARE TOOL"

Or any post similar to that would make me cry.

Hey you said Deftones couldn't even sub at Download anymore and were a 'weak third down' in 2013. Get out of here!

Yeah I did, I'll admit I didn't see a Wembley Arena show coming but if it sells well then it will be what BMTH did. Thing's change I guess, can't be right with everything I guess. I didn't say it would happen, just merely there is that, sitting on the fence if you like.

Haha not so much Arctics now but I'd happily take The Killers instead. Not Blink, they've just replaced Tom with someone awful again lol.

No way in hell are SOAD gonna headline if they didn't in 2013 (not aimed at you Hawky, but people keep suggesting it).

Not even with new album?

In 2013 all their reunion hype had gone (they reunited in 2011) and they had no new material so they didn't warrant the headline spot. But surely with successful new material, they could pull it off? I haven't seen anyone suggesting it tbh, just wondered what the consensus is.

Will SOAD ever even have new material. :(

I'm slightly confident they will, I can see them continuing to tour and they've teased it for agessssss.

If they do make it, I'm scared to see what it'd be like; I just hope it's more SOAD than Serj solo.

Rage are over.

SOAD will have new material though, they've said as much and now their memorial tour is done they seem to be lining up shows leading into next year. I think they'll release before next summer and be hot property in Europe for it - not R+L though.

What's happened with Rage?

Ah cool, hope it actually comes to fruition then, seems like its been off/on for ages.

Be good for Sonisphere to return and snap them up over Download, with a more interesting undercard than the majority of what Download offers.
