I can see them being there and as an Other Stage headliner (or sub maybe, given that Pumpkins subbed and they're not bigger than them). They are utter rubbish now though aren't they? I used to be a huge fan but I can't get on with any of their output now.

That said, if they played I'd probably go along for the classics that saw me through my adolescence. And Holy Bible would be a beautiful - if surreal - thing.

If they did the holy bible then... wow. I'd love to see that but not sure how it would work at glastonbury. In broad daylight it would just feel wrong, but I don't think they're big enough to headline the pyramid and even as other stage headliners think a lot of the audience would just be 'wtf...'. I wonder if they'd do it on a smaller stage, park? john peel?

Enormous fan here. Find it quite hard watching them at festivals though as the setlist tends to be quite 'polite' in such situations.

They've just released an acoustic/slightly experimental album with guest vocalists. In april they're releasing Futurology, which is touted as the third album in the "Holy Bible, Journal for Plague Lovers, Album 3" trinity. That said, Nicky did describe Lifeblood as "The Holy Bible for 30 year olds".

I'd love to see them do a daring set somewhere like Glasto. Other stage, Jazz or JP would be a good place for it.

I would happily commit armed robbery if they decide to tour The Holy Bible for it's 20th Anniversary. In fact, I would accept going permanently deaf after the gig if it guaranteed me a ticket.

Anyway, Other Stage sub would be a good slot for them, although headlining John Peel wouldn't be too bad either, as they're so good in smaller venues these days.

Yeah, I reckon JP could work too. Isn't it normally new bands in there though?

Wish I could make myself listen to a new album but I just can't. The singles annoy me too much. But I'd still go and wait respectfully for 'Faster' and 'Motown Junk'.

Recently it has been a bit but they've had Ash and Echo and the Bunnymen headline not too long ago.

Also, the new album's not as bad as 'Show Me the Wonder' promises it to be. :P

I keep telling you. Get the journal for plague lovers. You may as well not bother with the rest from what you've said, but I promise you you'll like that. In fact you've inspired me lo go put it on now. Not heard the new one yet but I like the song with Hawley. Show me the wonder is grub bit shit though.

It's on my extended to-do list :P

I expect it's them doing Manics-circa-Holy-Bible-by-numbers though and I can't quite handle the thought of that.

I spent years pretending they were still good when they're not. Now I've finally drawn a line under them I can't make myself go back over it!

I just looked it up online. It has that awful "Oh mummy what's a sex pistol?" song on it! That does my head in!

No deal.

To be fair that was the one barely-promoted song. No singles, but that would've been the one if there were.

Listen to Peeled Apples, Bag Lady or This Joke Sport Severed.

they did also say that they are going to try and get a hologram of "Richey, or something, like Tupac! But I'm not sure. I don't think we will (play the album in full) again."

So are they going to play the album in full or not? In fact it was just James who did one of the songs acoustic, and him that said he wanted to play it at Glastonbury, maybe a solo slot?

What was their slot in 2007? 2008 was my first year.

They're a band I'd probably see at a festival for nostalgia/curiosity but wouldn't pay to see any more. But I've not been to a festival where they've played since swearing off them.

I wish they'd do a Suede: split up for a few years, come back with a decent album and erase all the shite albums from their set.
