The black and White sessions were sessions for a French radio DJ who was one of their few champions in the per Beggars days so they're kind of like Peel sessions I guess.

The Manchester gig was excellent. Was on the rail and Matt laid on my head for a bit so that was nice. Went to Ally Pally on the Wednesday with dot orgers. Was ok but just too big really. Sorry to hear you had a bad time. I want them to play the leccy ballroom again.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned So Far Around The Bend. Lovely little song.

Mistaken For Strangers is a weird film. Interesting to a point but not really about the band.

Very pleased they've returned to form.

Yeah me too. The rational part of my brain says this won't happen. For a start they are mates and will want to see each other play and secondly they will likely guest in each other's sets as they have done before. That's what I'm telling myself anyway.

I think it's really unlikely they'll clash. Dream scenario is The National subbing Arcade Fire but I just don't think The National are big enough.

If they clashed I actually don't know what I'd do... Seeing Arcade Fire in June already so probably The National but AF will be such a moment.

I'm sticking with The National/Pixies/Arcade Fire triple header plan.

Edit: just to clarify, I mean one into the other not the three as headliners. Probably obvious!

i'm hoping for the national below pixies on other now. i think the national would get lost on the pyramid and w/o kim those aren't pixies so i'd be ok missing them.

I agree The National would get lost on Pyramid though actually and would prefer them on Other. Could get much closer. But I'm clutching at straws that the three won't clash I guess!

For me, all that matters for The National is they get plenty of time. I think they're good enough, expansive enough and experienced enough to play any stage anywhere and pull it off. But I don't want them to get 45 minutes. They're not that sort of band. Would much rather they headline the Other Stage, or even the Park than be fourth from the top on the Pyramid and have to rush.

Stand by everyone! They've just announced four dates in Ireland in July, with tickets going on sale tomorrow. That's a bit sneaky. Will have to keep our eyes peeled for similar releasing of English dates...
