I'll take the L on this one folks

I'm sure they'll do another London gig

Tbf they did two nights at Alexandra Palace in November 2013 on the Trouble Will Find Me touring campaign, and even though the APE attendance was low, it was still quoted as above the equivalent of 2 AP shows. So I thought it was plausible this might go down, and makes me happier I got the pre-sale link here.

I'd like to think that they would. What is another matter.

I can see them all doing "People Have The Power" together at the end - that's almost certain.  But I would love it if they had Patti out to sing something like "Hairpin Turns" - God, I would just melt.

Another cracker - think it’s my favourite from the new album so far. It’s shaping up very nicely indeed.

Everything released so far is top notch. Love it!

Went to a listening party this eve, sounded like a cracker. Goosebumps from Grease in Your Hair, the Taylor feature is class and Send for Me sounds like an all-timer.

Kinda of gave me Sleep Well Beast themes with I Am Easy To Find sound. Can't wait to spend more time with it.

Exciting review. What’s it like at a listening party? I can’t picture what a public music experience without something to collectively look at would be like.

I went to one for the new Daughter album a few weeks ago. I was a bit apprehensive before it for the reason you mention, as I had no clue what it would be like. It ended up being a mix of people just browsing through records for something to do (me and a few others), people with their pals chatting and then some people who staunchly stood near the speakers and listened. I’m not sure I’d go to another one but it was a decent event with free beer, merch etc., so worth a try if you’re interested in one.

I went to Banquet as I had to pick up a record anyway but they were all around the world. It was really awkward honestly, they hadn't really advertised it so there was about 8 of us just standing in the shop staring into space. I was gonna go to Rough Trade East which I think was sold out so maybe completely different.

But the good part was there was so few of us when they did the competition the chances of winning were much higher. I ended up coming home with the Paul head which I'm chuffed about 😄

What’s everybody’s initial thoughts then?

I like it a lot - can really sense the emotion in the lyrics and the songs are beautifully put together as you would expect. Think the guests are all great on it too and it works very well. Just love how Taylor suits their sound and compliments Matt perfectly. Also, would have loved ‘Weird Goodbyes’ to have been added as a bonus too as I loved that single!

Whilst it’s not groundbreaking and won’t win them any new fans, I think it captures their best sound and is their best output in a decade.
