rjb94
You could use http://www.youtube-mp3.org if you wanted an mp3 russy. And that gig has made me so excited for Manchester in a couple of weeks, although I realise we won't get that long. Considering a pilgrimage to Edinburgh in the summer to get the full experience. Zoo Music Girl
I despair. Haha! Fuck. That was a genuine typo! It's early. You could use http://www.youtube-mp3.org if you wanted an mp3 russy. And that gig has made me so excited for Manchester in a couple of weeks, although I realise we won't get that long. Considering a pilgrimage to Edinburgh in the summer to get the full experience. I am stupidly excited for this gig. Hoping for an hour and a half at least. I'm thinking of doing the Neil Young gig as well - they're listed as a "full set" on the posters which, according to the organisers (who I emailed, being a geek and an obsessive) should also mean around 90 minutes. Lot of money though... Not sure whether to hold out for a London solo gig.
Vanderlyle
I will persevere and I definitely would see them at glastonbury! The ones that take longer to get into are always the ones you end up liking the most. High violet I liked immediately, but barely play now (I still like it, just rarely get the urge to play it) I reckon new album is great. But it's more of a smooth, easy-listening type - just like HV. Better as background, while working etc - doesn't stand up to aggressive listening quite as well as Boxer/Alligator (edit - but it does sound good live). Maybe only Graceless and Pink Rabbits will make it to a 'greatest hits', but This is the Last Time, Don't Swallow the Cap and Hard to Find are excellent in their own way. And if you want a good MP3 download, try the Black or White Sessions. Great bootlegs that the band are happy for people to have. None of the new stuff though... Dog Burger
Very funny Although obviously I don't know. Someone here will surely?I think it's all on YouTune and worth watching though. Fucking great gig. Deeply jealous of everyone that was there. Are you still pissed?
Zoo Music Girl
Are you still pissed? It's safer to just assume I'm always pissed and disregard my posts accordingly. Zoo Music Girl
well as a recent discoverer of this lot and only really knowing (and loving) their last album, im sticking on the sydney concert now. Wish me luck! What's the verdict then? If you love the last album, I can't see how you'd fail to love that gig.
zico martin
It was a great gig and i really like them, as people like. I really don't think there's an average track on twfm so im looking forward to checking out the rest of their back catalogue now. What does worry me now though, not only have I another band i really really want to play the festival this year, but now they are added to my 'must see' list there is an added ingredients in a potential nasty clash. scaryclaireyfairy
yay! well, not about the potential clash bit but you're in the right place to find other worried faces and chewed nails.
Zoo Music Girl
Glad you liked it! Was going to warn you of a potential other clash though... Alligator and High Violet are my favourite albums, but Boxer is easily as good. The first two albums are patchy but I actually still love them too. But I'm an obsessive about this particular band. DJL
YES! Very exciting. Provided, of course, that I get a ticket. Wonder where they'll be placed? 3-4th down pyramid, 2nd-3rd down other? Are they too big to headline park? In summary i have no idea. Edit - just realised i was many pages behind and this has been answered extensively Edited February 15, 2014 by DJL

You see I loved High Violet on first listen but I rarely go back to it now. Whereas I was disappointed with TWFM at first, but now I can't get enough of it. I'd say TWFM & Boxer are the two I return to most often.

kingcrawler
High Violet > Trouble Will Find Me > Boxer > Alligator > Sad Songs High Violet was the album that got me into them, so russy's theory still stands.

russycarps
bah I just thought because their best albums are so consistently good, your favourite would be the first you heard. another crack pot theory fails.
