rjb94
Vanderlyle was immense. Worth checking out 6 music's hysterical live tweeting from during the gig to help relive it. My National-virgin friend was a little shocked by Matt's antics
dentalplan
They absolutely killed it last night! Still feeling pretty fragile and it was an endurance test to sit through Jake Bugg and Franz Ferdinand but they were incredible. Couldn't you have gone and seen Wild Beasts/Lykke Li? Porcelina
Mistaken For Strangers or Graceless for the three minute recommendation. Envious of those in attendance last night but I'm hoping for a Glasto/BST double header in summer!
Zoo Music Girl
Couldn't you have gone and seen Wild Beasts/Lykke Li? Really wanted to see Wild Beasts but the second room was a nightmare and getting around the venue was a pain in the arse. Was more important to be front and centre for The National in the end as seeing the Beasties in April anyway. Lykke Li has no interest for me. kaytee...
My ears are still ringing after last nights attempt to stay at the front, even staying put through Jake Bugg. But I'm glad because they were ace, even if I was almost strangled by Matt's mic wire.
fightoffyour
I can confirm that Lykke Li and Wild Beasts were ace but the 2nd room was crap. More importantly TN were incredible. Park or JP headline please.

Park or JP headline please. I just couldn't handle that room at all! People flow was a nightmare round the edges and sound was shit. I still see The National as Other headliner. Sticking by this like a very stubborn thing.
zico martin
cant believe you didnt hang around by the stage door afterwards to ask them tbh ZMG, call yourself a fan
kaytee...
I still see The National as Other headliner. Sticking by this like a very stubborn thing. I reckon they could do it. I was surprised at how packed the room was last night, far more so than it was for Damon Albarn on Friday. I personally don't know anyone who's even heard of them, but every time I've seen them it's been a sold out show. For me, it would be a perfect booking. Zoo Music Girl
cant believe you didnt hang around by the stage door afterwards to ask them tbh ZMG, call yourself a fan By the end of their set I was in no fit state to ask anybody anything... Reckon I'm going to watch it again tonight!
Zoo Music Girl
Besides, until I've got a ticket I have distinctly mixed feelings about them being there!
The Other Steve
They were awesome last night and can't believe I've managed to see them twice in Manchester within 4 months. They delivered again and I am absolutely mesmerised by this band. Standouts for me were Abel, Graceless, Mr November and Vanderlyle purely for atmosphere and goosebumps :-)
CHRLY
First time seeing them last night. Only went back to room 1 half way through franz Ferdinand but was right at the front for TN. Crowd were amazing, didn't think it would be jumpy at all but it was very! I am now officially obsessed, Vanderlyle was absolutely stunning as was the whole set. One to remember that
Anderson19
Finally got round to watching it back on the 6music site now, really wish I had tried harder to get a ticket now! Brilliant performance, Vanderlyle is such a moment. Desperately hoping they will be on that line up poster.
Zoo Music Girl
I watched it again last night So good! I don't know how anyone could maintain the opinion they are 'dull' and 'boring' after watching that. How could you not be moved by Vanderlyle? Also spotted myself during Graceless Gutted it's over! More dates please...
Dog Burger
. I personally don't know anyone who's even heard of them You're not the dj at a popular Manchester indie club are you?
Dog Burger
They absolutely killed it last night! Still feeling pretty fragile and it was an endurance test to sit through Jake Bugg and Franz Ferdinand but they were incredible. Faultless. Atmosphere was amazing too, better than Ally Pally, despite the warehouse being quite a crap venue. I think they also played longer than expected too. I love them so much it actually hurts. Abel would be my crack pipe recommendation. That was so good! Apartment Story, England and Vanderlyle all destroyed me in the best possible way. You really do love crack, don't you? Sobered up yet? Sorry about your burger ticket...
Dog Burger
Brilliant gig. Was absolutely worth an hour of being sexually assaulted by the very camp Franz Ferdinand fan club getting jiggy right behind me as I endured their set, to ensure a good place for The National. Graceless and Afraid of Everyone blew my knickers clean off. Have never set foot anywhere quite so awful as 42nd Street indie nightclub, though. It was like some sort of Channel 5 documentary about Benidorm. Asked the DJ if they had anything by The National, his assistant had to ask me to write it down as she had never heard of them, and he said "You've gotta be joking mate, no-one here will have heard of them". Zoo Music Girl
You really do love crack, don't you? Sobered up yet? Sorry about your burger ticket... I needed the crack to get me through Jake Bugg. And then again to survive 42nd Street. Still, I made it out of Manchester alive so that's something. Launching your shoes?? Never gets old, does it? Oh, wait, it already did...
Dog Burger
I needed the crack to get me through Jake Bugg. And then again to survive 42nd Street. Last thing I remember saying, about 3am, from the relative comfort of my bed was: "This is fucking boring, let's go back out and go to another club." Zoo Music Girl
Don't put yourself down. Referring to oneself as 'it' is a bit demeaning. Looks like someone's jealous that they missed possibly the best gig of all time EVER.
Dog Burger
Because the last club you recommended was such a success... You just didn't like it because they wouldn't play Franz Ferdinand or Jake Bugg - your two favourites - there.

They played Beyonce and Shakira though so I was more than happy.
