What are the thoughts of you guys of it potentially being The Strokes. They posted today on facebook a photo of their drum kit with the tagline "It's that time again". Unfortunately for Optimus there are no signs of any movement with the Libertines, and The Strokes appear to be popping up at a convenient time for festivals in the last chance saloon for headliners. Beni and Optimus are similar times and are both in the market for a final headliner that wont break the bank.

Everyone thought Beni had someone planned for a long time but were battling unknown red tape issues, but when they released the Libs it became pretty apparent that they had no-one all along and just got very very lucky.

I hope you get The Libertines but the reality is Arctic Monkeys are a huge headliner and the Black Keys would be pretty costly to, before Beni pulled the Libs they only had Kasabian so would have have a huge chunk of the budget to throw at the Libs, It's doubtful Optimus are in that position at the moment.. The Strokes touring again could offer a similar opportunity for a decent headline act that wouldn't cost a fortune..

Can't see it being the strokes, I know they are getting together for a couple of shows is the USA but Albert Hammond Jr already had European dates including Benicassim & Superbock.

Highly unlikely, as much as I'd be happy with it.

Beni have bumped up Paolo to headline I believe, optimus must be the last festival in Europe to be missing a headliner

I really can't see imagine dragons; they cancelled Bilbao BBK on the Sunday because they had to be back in the USA to record something, so why the change?

Strokes would be a godsend, but i really don't see it happening. Just hope we get someone average at the moment who i wouldn't feel too strongly about either way, like just along as it isn't someone i hate like Prince or Coldplay

Just the full line up will do me and a few more acts that I really like, In a big fan of the 2 headliners so far so can't grumble to much.

everyone said that the strokes were only doing one show in new york in June but now they have confirmed a festival in August. The interesting thing about that festival, is that The Strokes are headlining on the Sunday but on the Saturday AHJ is doing a solo gig and Casablancas + the Voidz are playing as well.

It seems odd that The Strokes would announce new gigs, 2 mid june then another one in August and do nothing in between. AHJ has come out and said if the Strokes were to tour again he would love to be the opening act for them and it has proved to be the case with this other festival. A few gigs in Europe in July would make sense. AHJ is already over here at that time...

I really don't think they should be written off.

It's only because they're the only acts announced for the stage! Would be nice to see what positions we had left though.

Cass McCombs and Au Revoir Simone can't be headlining second stage when they were billed so far down on the poster before that, wouldn't look too much into the positions on the stages.
