McFly and Busted have confirmed they will join forces as McBusted next year for a UK tour.

It had been hinted last week that the two bands would unite, and the joint project was officially confirmed at a press conference this morning (November 11) hosted by Emma Willis, TV presenter and wife of Busted's Matt Willis.

Tour dates for April and May 2014 were also announced. There is also a new website and a @McBusted twitter account.

The band said the tour will consist of both bands performing as one, playing the biggest hits from both back-catalogues. It was also confirmed the band will make their first appearance together at Children In Need this Friday (Nov 15).

Willis and bandmate James Bourne joined McFly on stage in September at the Royal Albert Hall, sparking rumours of a further collaboration. Charlie Simpson, however, who left Busted to form rock band Fightstar and release acoustic solo albums, ruled himself out of reunion plans when responding on Twitter "No I'm not' to a fan asking whether he would be taking part.

Presale for the McBusted tour begins on November 14. They will play:

Liverpool Echo Arena (April 19)

Bournemouth International Centre (21)

Metro Arena, Newcastle (28)

Capital FM Arena, Nottingham (29)

First Direct Arena, Leeds (30)

Birmingham LG Arena (May 3)

Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield (4)

Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff (6)

Phones4u Arena, Manchester (9)

Yawn.

You don't like their music. That's the only thing you can throw at them. They write their own stuff, play their own instruments and largely manage themselves.

Of course you all have inside information on everything which allows you to be completely condescending to anyone who dare express an opinion different to your own so please carry on educating us poor souls who aren't as enlightened.
