Sonisphere is quite bland. Metallica and Iron Maiden are used far too much. I know people love to see them but Download seems far more appealing to me

(I also prefer A7X, LP and Aerosmith to Iron Maiden and Metallica. Haters gonna hate)

Totally agree download just seems a bit fresher, saying that a few download veterans I know are ditching it for sonisphere because of the headliners.

Linking park and offspring are the only acts announced for download i would watch. Really disliking quo, fob, and areosmith doesn't help tho. Plus seen tallica once and never seen maiden so pretty happy with this annoucment.

Aye QotSA are at the top of their game! Download should have got them instead, hoping Reading/Leeds does the sensible thing and books them...or an outside chance at Sonisphere, though I keep hearing sabbs as headliner no.3 for there.

There is no band I'd rather watch just now than A7X. Aerosmith and LP are both good for me too. Download is still winning for me but I'll be at Soni too.

a7x slightly dissapointed me last night

Really? Why? The set lists aren't as good as they might be but I'd be happy with that plus a bit more. How were FFDP? I was in London sat night and would have killed for a ticket for sun.

five finger death punch were amazing.

FFDP according to me and a lot of other people were better than a7x. a7x have a great stage show, they just arent good as a live act though. theres something missing about them as a live act and that guitar solo lost pretty much the entire crowd.

Lots of people said that Shinedown blew away Alterbridge too. They'd be wrong. A7X at Download were really good I thought but I didn't know much of their stuff then. I can't understand people that go and watch Berklee students and then complain about technical guitar solos, there's much more to music than being told when to clap and jump in my book. Solos have their place and Gates is supposedly really good but I can understand how youngsters don't appreciate them as much. I just can't believe that it's still another 6 months before I'll get to judge them for myself.

No guesses as such. Majority on facebook and the like seem to be suggesting slipknot or Sabbath.

I reckon NIN or BFMV for other headliner once their arena shows have had longer to sell out. Doubt they need a big name like Sabbath or Slipknot given who they have, and would give em a reason not to announce yet.

If they had a big name like Sabbath they'd have stuck em in the first annoucnement - but yeah maybe things just arn't fully tied up yet.
