West Holts

Talib Kweli and Mos Def (Yasiin Bey) - Black Star are playing on the Sunday (28th) in London. Might be a chance of being on the line up somewhere.

Also Yasiin Bey is doing Dilla in London a few weeks before. Wouldn't mind seeing that. http://www.soundcrashmusic.com/yasiin-bey-plays-j-dilla/

Blackstar woud be amazing - seen them before. Also seen Mos Def solo twice, once I was the support act. No interest in a solo Mos show anymore unfortunately - love his music but he doesn't cut it live solo. With Kweli is a different matter though

I spoke to Al of Hot Chip last night and he told me they were headlining west holts Friday. Didn't know who was subbing though...

This is a shame. Hot Chip were maybe by #1 but am going with a big Foos fan, it's his first Glasto, and so I think I'll head Pyramid. Tough life.

Is the feeling that caribou will play before Hot chip? I'm really struggling to find an act I want to see Friday night - I like the Foos but saw them at MK a few years back so would be up for seeing someone new, but I'm not a massive fan of Hot chip.

This might be of interest to West Holts folks, Prince has uploaded a gig he played at his home a couple weeks ago and he finishes with a cover of Whole of the Moon https://soundcloud.com/prince3eg/dancerally4peace

Bound to be joining the Waterboys for that at G then. And they do a version of Purple Rain too remember. ;-)

I think he's going to join Leo & Anto (probably in the Acoustic Tent) for a Waterboys/Saw Doctors/Prince acoustic crossover. - you heard it here first

That makes me sad that I will probably never get to see that Prince, only the greatest hits type performance. I love the way it went all a bit Mothership in the middle.

seems i'll be spending more time at West Holts than usual this year (especially now with Foos drop out) which i'm thrilled about. could honestly spend all day every day there (as well as the Park) and be pretty happy, but alas the clash gods as always have prevented this

Run The Jewels, Caribou, Hot Chip, Gregory Porter, possibly Vintage Trouble, Todd Terje and possibly FKA twigs

reckon i'll make my way there on the Wednesday to pound a few Brothers and chill out. think it'll be a good first place to take my first timer friend

then do not miss Steel Pulse. :)

When they played around 6 or 7 years ago there was a disappointingly small crowd, but the crowds for Sunday arvo reggae at WH in recent years have been massive - so I really hope Steel Pulse get the crowd they deserve this time.

They're the very best of British reggae. Anyone without Handsworth Revolution in their music collection don't know nuthin'. :P

This will be my fourth Glasto and remarkably I've never seen an act at the West Holts. I've wandered through a couple of times but never stopped to watch anyone.

But this year Run The Jewels and Caribou are two of my must-sees (until the Strokes ruin everything with an announcement shortly…) - looking forward to spending some time there.
