Bonnaroo 2014

It looks like Nick Cave, Disclosure, Robert Delong, Cage the Elephant and a few others are in this year. Does anyone on this board partake in Bonnaroo? This will be my tenth year and I'm always looking to get new opinions on the fest from people of different walks of life.

Feel free to flame me up for starting a thread with my first post, or is that just a silly American thing?

Welcome to the forum Roger!

I've been on here for a few years now and can't say I remember too many threads about Bonnaroo, or stories from people who have been. I'm sure there are some members who have though, but most of the regular posters seem to be from the UK and Europe. We're pretty lucky in that there's loads of great festivals within a 2/3 hour flight so that, added to the high cost and logistics of heading Stateside for one, rules a lot of people out. Having said that, I did go to Moby's Area One festival in California back in 2002 or so, although I was over there working anyway and it tied in with the dates.

Bonnaroo seems to have a great (and diverse) line up each year and I always try and tune into the live stream when it's on. Saw Robert Delong at a festival last summer and was pretty impressed.

Don't worry about getting flamed on here, it's very different to some other festival forums, such as Coachella. I'm a member on there but haven't posted in years, primarily because it's full of some of the worst examples of human beings you could ever have the misfortune to meet. It's a lot friendlier and more civilised on here!

Hi Roger

I'm looking at Bonnaroo this year. I don't know a great deal about it, read a few reviews etc.

How would you sum it up?

Have you been to any in Europe by way of comparison?
