SEO advice

Probably not to use SEO companies.

I've spent years deleting spam. Quite often nowadays I get emails from companies asking me to delete some of their spamming that's gone undetected and is now costing their google rankings.

I even get to charge them at a premium for the deletion.

But I understand how you must be feeling. efestivals own rankings have taken a tumble with some of google's recent changes - but those changes are not actually giving people great search results. They're significantly worse results.

So I really can't see google keeping the algorithum they're using right now for long, because it's much shitter than how it was 6+ months ago.

thanks for the reply buddy efest, was sort of hoping you would reply!

its just so frustrating last september i hit page 1 for the best keyword for me then in december dropped now on page 5 enquiries down massively........... gutted

if you try and game your ranking, don't be surprised if others out-game you. After all, there will always be only one winner, and that probably won't be you.

Google rankings actually work very well (in the main, their more recent updates have been a crock of shit, but I'm sure they'll be reversed before the end of this year) if you don't try and game the system.

It's unlikely (by the laws of averages) that your own site is deserving of first page by a real-world analysis, so I'd say that ultimately you need to accept the real world. Work on improving your business and not on improving your google ranking and your google rankings will climb anyway.
