Six Nations 2014

Pleased to see Ireland do it again. Not a great performance but the tactical performance that was needed. The less said about the France game the better. I guess the positive you can take from the England game was winning without playing well.

Hasn't been any team looking very good so far, I guess it'll be settled by who can grind out the most results.

Solid performance from Wales yesterday. France on the other hand very sloppy. As I have said previously I don't think there is much difference between the top 4 teams, so the deciding factor will be the fixture list. With England and France having 2 home and 1 away match in games involving the top 4, I would favour one of those 2 teams.

I think I'm in the minority but I would prefer the tournament extended to 10 games with everyone playing home and away. While it would almost eliminate the grand slam, I think it would be a fairer way of working out the best team, as the fixtures are a big factor at present.

Well everyone upped their game this weekend. Some crackers. As a Wales supporter I wasn't sure who to cheer for with England v Ireland. Traditionally it's whoever is playing England but I also didn't want Ireland to walk away with the championship.

In the end I didn't mind the outcome as it was a great match.

A terrible idea. It would go on too long to sustain the same level of interest in the competition that it has now. More players would get injured. More time away for the players from their clubs. Most importantly, it would reduce how special the competition is. Saturating the competition with all those extra matches would reduce its quality as well as its magic.

It would require the biggest victory in Six Nations history, and that's assuming that, in that case, Ireland win by a very small amount of points.

Can't complain at being in the position of going to France knowing a win would take the title. However, think a lot of improvement is needed to make sure that first half performance from yesterday doesn't happen again. I'm not confident in France (famous last words), but we let Italy into the game during that first half, and I think France would take greater advantage of that. Obviously we tightened up a lot in the second, but even against a team like France who you could say aren't at the top of their game, you can't afford to have a first half like that.

Looking at the final weekend fixtures, all three are tough. I think Scotland and Italy are both massively improved this year (even if Italy have failed to win), and although you'd expect them to both be defeated, i'd expect them to put up a good fight.

Ireland have an abysmal record is Paris so although I think they're strong favourites it's not a certainty the title is theirs. Not a chance of England scoring 50 points in Rome.

Wales were taught a lesson in rugby - a spent force and no title for them for a few years I don't think. As for England winning the World Cup - they are still a long way from their southern hemisphere counterparts but it does look as though they will improve and become the best team in the northern hemisphere.

The points difference means its effectively between you and England now, as a Welshman I am definitely hoping its you. However Irelands ability to choke and Frances unpredictability means anything could happen. I have always said that I think France, Wales, England and Ireland were pretty close and the fixture list would be crucial, I think (although don't trust my memory completely!) that matches between those 4 have all resulted in home wins so far, which may work against Ireland.

I know broadcasting dictates how these things run, but I think all games should run at the same time on the last week. It doesnt seem right that Ireland (and in theory France) know exactly what they need and England don't, purely because of the schedule.
