hi

Im going to the O2 in brum next Sat to see Mad caddies, Less than Jake and Zebrahead.

Was just wandering if people could suggest where to go afterwards? i know brum fairly well so can get myself around the palce ok. been trying to find out if the 02 turns into a club night after the gig, mind you...i have been to a club night there before and it was shite.

Digbeth and the jewellery quarter both have some good places to go. Subway city is usually a good shout but it depends on which night you go. Snobs is ever popular for the indie crowd and probably your best bet, imo.

Not sure if they'll have another big night on the Saturday. They might do. Possibly worth asking them. If they don't have anything on they should be able to tell you where would it would be 'happening'.

Are you referring to the o2 academy? or is there another o2 venue in brum?

Since it moved, its nowhere near as good for a night out, dont get me wrong, the venue is good, its just miles from anything, and the old stomping ground around the old academy is nothing like it used to be.

We failed to find anything impressive to do, although there was a club night afterwards. A good indication of a club night after the gig is an early door time/curfew on the tickets. In fact, check that anyway, because the academies are infamous for not telling people about early starts/stage times/curfews, we missed 2 support bands when we went to see deftones, walked in just before deftones came on.

yeah, the 02 academy. ive been to a club night there before but there wasnt a gig on first and it was pretty dead. I know Eddies is right near it but im under the impression that has gone to the dogs?

im guessing all the places down Arcadia are gonna be shoes and collars??

Subway city - ive heard real mixed reviews about this place.

looks like its gonna be Snobs then i guess.

There's a bar called subside opposite snobs open til 5 or 6am.. They play all sorts or rock, grunge, punk, metal if you wanna drink til the small hours..

Wouldn't go subway, too far & a liability nowadays..

Snobs, you know what you're getting..

There are a few good bars where the new 02 is, you just have to walk down a couple of the side roads.

There is a gay bar that is cracking, went there after the last time I was at the 02.

Can't remember the bars name but opposite the 02 they do rooms for about 20 quid, worth a mention for those who travel from outside the mids.

Hi

Well the Less Than Jake gig was good. We ended up "trying" to go to Snobs but got turned away as my mates Dr.Martins were steel toe cap!

So we went over to Subside Bar, and got super smashed and had a great time till 6am. Highly recomend it. To be honest, it didnt get busy till about 2:30. Loads of poeple we chatted to in there talked about the Asylum. Looked it up on the net, looks like a good metal club / venue.

Gonna do Snobs next time, is a particular night the best night to go? i normally go out on Saturdays.
