Just out of interest, and only for information- Gumtree will not allow you to sell etickets. Its in their T&C's.

Gumtree is only suitable if you live near the buyer to do face to face for the transaction, I've used it plenty times too to sell tickets.

Has anyone ever bought tickets from a tout for an all day gig? I live easy walking distance from Finsbury Park & am at a loose end on Saturday so was thinking of wandering up to see Arctic Monkeys. They're on at 9 and I'm not overly bothered about the support. If I turn up at 8.30 / 9 have I a chance of getting a bargain?

depends how well it has sold, and how well it sells on the day I suppose.

Yeah I'd definitely give it a go. Also if a price is too high then just walk away, you'd be amazed how effective a technique it is!

Like others have said it's worth a shot, always haggle and don't accept what they say at face value. I've got a tix from a tout for a single cig before.

Walking away almost always ends with the price dropping, a very effective tactic. Worked many a time for me as does holding out til the doors have opened or bands have started
