Its starting to become fucking annoying now to keep reading headlines of people keeping monsters like this with little kids in the house...

Pit bulls are on the more aggressive side. As are Rottweilers but are both really good with kids if looked after properly. The problem is with the owners. The amount of attacks is very, very very rare if the dog is treated properly and kids are thought properly.

The issue is idiot owners trying to make the dog "mean" by mistreating it to make themselves look hard. Or breeding them for fighting, or inbreeding them.

My next door neighbour has two American pitbulls and two kids who love the dogs. And the dogs love them.

I grew up with big dogs and loved every minute of it.

Bad parenting plain and simple, leaving your child alone with any dog is asking for trouble and to much of a risk.

We have a soft dog who isn't aggressive what so ever, he's fantastic with our daughter. We still wouldn't leave her in the same room as the dog though, just in case.

Leaving children alone with a dog is unfair on the child and the dog.

Any dog is capable of harming a child if it's badly trained and given opportunity to do so. Even the fluffiest poodle has the potential to! I wouldn't personally have a dog while I have young children - I'm wary of dogs anyway - but it's purely an owner problem, not the dog.

I agree that you can never trust a dog with children. I had the most beautiful, obedient, loyal, gentle border collie, who was the most amazing protective dog with us all. In my heart I trusted her completely. But my head never forgot that she was capable of reverting to her nature. Dogs have triggers, we suppress their natural instincts, and even the most trusted, docile dog can go rogue. I never left her alone with my children, or my cat for that matter.

Nice

Tricky one that,

But yes what a great TV show for the masses on a Saturday night. Predict a childs future and then have the public voting on whether to Castrate or not, or maybe even put down. Imagine the money you could make from that kind of show.

I like Your thinking. Not sure how we get all 12 year olds in the system, and imagine how nervous you would be Barry when it's your kids turn. What a rush
