That Groezrock line up is amazing.It seems the days of the lock up having bands like Descendents and NoFx are long gone.

Oh for the days when we used to complain that Rise Against and Anti-Flag were booked too often and we used to predict the likes of Bad Religion and Pennywise would headline.

We even (unrealistically) would hold a faint hope that Rancid would play the lock up,ha ha.

I suppose all those bands are considered too old now.

The secret act, the radio one bloke who books lock up each year teased, who do we think it is? Can't be Frank Turner unless it's a Reading exclusive which is unlikely.

Bowling for soup was a rumor floating around... They posted a pic of reading on their Facebook claiming that's where it all started. Good way to end for them which they've practically done Anyway?

Errmmm. Green Day? They played a secret set at Reading in 2012 so Frank Turner could happen.

I don't think it will be Bowling For Soup as they also posted other festival passes on their Facebook. Probably just looking back at the past. Gallows was a good shout and at one point I thought it could be Pure Love, but FR would have made a big deal about them playing their last foreseeable festival. If it is an act playing the same day I still Gnarwolves could be a good shout

I doubt it's Frank tbh, Green Day was a one off. Lets not make the illusion that it's suddenly a rule that bands can and will play secret sets just at Reading. If it happens, I'd say it'll happen at both sites.

Never said it a secret set would only happen at Reading, just the fact that it could be exclusive to one site. Anyway I don't think it will be Frank either

I think he was saying he didn't understand the point of secret sets.

I think the point is that it attracts people to the tent as they'll have heard there's a secret set on + in some cases the band is too big for any of the slots available so therefore get a 'secret' slot as it makes them feel important + sometimes bands can't formally announce themselves for certain festivals because they're booked as exclusives or whatever elsewhere.

Plus it's always cool to see a secret set and everyone knows that

Also While She Sleeps could be in for a shout, even got a photo of them in acts announced (probably by accident but hey!)

Nofx, Frank Turner,Green Day and Them Crooked Vultures were known way in advance and Black Stone Cherrys secret set at Download this year stayed a secret for about 12 minutes.

They always manage to keep the secret sets on the BBC Introducing stage a secret though so maybe this'll remain a mystery till' the day it happens too.
