Courteeners peaked for me about 3 years ago.

Like I said it might just be the general state of alternative rock, cos I'm struggling to come up with an alternative suggestion. Either acts aren't touring (FATM, NGHFB, Kasabian) or they are not established yet

All the "indie" stuff of previous years is being washed away by endless amounts carbon-copy singer-songwriters in the charts and I think R&L has had most of the nostalgia acts worth headlining (bar perhaps Suede).

It'll all be saved by the Festival Republic stage anyway... maybe.

Anyone thinking it'll be a financial disaster is just talking bollocks based on their personal preference. My question is whether it's a good long-term sustainable plan for the festival, as by recycling acts quickly and getting flavours of the month with little established back catalogue or working their way up the lineup they'll alienate the idea of regulars. I guess we'll see though.

The promotions i'm happy with are drenge and temples who played low down FR last year, now low on NME. Fair enough.

the 1975 have gone from 7th down on the FR to subbing nme, seemingly due to the release of an album, still kind of justifiable, i suppose, at a push.

imagine dragons from 4th on nme to 3rd on main is ridiculous considering their success is based on one song and they have not grown massively, if at all, in the gap between reading 2013 and now.

I hate The 1975 but I'm not mad with them on the line up as they are a spot they actually deserve, meanwhile with Jake Bugg, Imagine Dragons and Macklemore they are playing stupid slots but like with the 1975 I wouldn't have mind if they played slots they deserve (JB 3rd Main, ID 4th Main and Macklemore headline NME).

However, if The 1975 bring out a new album next year I'm scared that Melvin will book them to sub
