Creamfields ID + Being underage

I just had a quick question,

I won't be 18 for a few months after Creamfields this year and I desperately want to go, as Reading looks shite if I'm being honest.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how strict they are when it comes to ID and what would be my best option when it comes to going to the festival. I live in London so trekking all the way to Liverpool just to get turned away with no refund and a 3 hour journey home is depressing as fuck.

I was wondering whether the stewards or security are like bouncers at clubs? Would I be fine with taking a friend of mine's ID that I use for clubs on the weekend? Looks vaguely like me, works out on the town. Or would I be ok with taking a standard fake ID with hologram layers, although these don't pass scanning tests, at clubs or anywhere.

I was also reading this post: > was wandering if anyone knew about the "stickered ID", and whether they take photocopies of licenses as a form of ID at Creamfields? If so then making a stickered ID (i.e. editing my passport or license) is completely doable and would save me a lot of time and worry.

All help appreciated, cheers

I took my mates ID last year as I was only 17, traveled all the way from Glasgow and got in fine. My mate looks a lot time me in his photo and I had used it in countless other clubs so I was pretty confident.

In the queue we spotted guys walking about checking ID and handing out 'Challenge 21' wristbands. I handed one of them my ID and he wrote down the name on his clipboard (not sure of the purpose of this) and gave me it back. No questions asked. He didn't even really give my ID or me a proper look. He was just having a laugh with his mate and some other guys.

Having the wristband meant that noone checked my ID for the rest of the festival so I would recommend trying to get one.

If I had tried, I would have probably been able to avoid being asked altogether the full weekend. I would say if the ID looks enough like you, just go for it. If it doesn't, wear sunglasses.

Hope this helps.
