guitarbhoy1888
Yeah I don't dispute that he would play year after year but I don't think he'd headline main every year Don't think he's so big headed Him after te Saturday headliner would be a cool tradition to have
Cocky19
Kasabian have to be a given to headline since they announced a show at the Hydro. The Black Keys likewise, more likely to sub however. Would like to see QOTSA on the bill, surprised they didn't play this year. Foo Fighters new album out this year as well so chance of them hopefully. mattgimmeshelter
Maybe that's the reason they've extended the licence to 1am? so they can always get a headliner - then calvin. Gonna make a wild punt, they wanted Eminem but he pulled out so they slotted up paolo and then booked Pharrell as he was available after wireless. thecommon
Have Radiohead not got an album out this year? If so ill go - Radiohead/The Black Keys Kasabian/The Libertines The Prodigy/Disclosure. I like Kasabian and dont think they should return again after just a couple of yars away but get the feeling, looking at T's recent history, that they'll get booked again. kingcrawler
Radiohead, really? They'd obviously be a great booking but I just can't see T booking them.
justanothername
Here we go Kasabian The Black Keys Eminem Two Door Cinema Club The Prodigy Macklemore Could see any of them playing. The only one I have doubts about is The Black Keys as if they headline R&L there is no way they'll sub at T
StevieMcK
The only one I have doubts about is The Black Keys as if they headline R&L there is no way they'll sub at T Why not? Jake Bugg headlined at Glastonbury and subbed at T.
justanothername
Why not? Jake Bugg headlined at Glastonbury and subbed at T. Jake Bugg didn't headline the main stage it was the other which is around sub level and R&L are into UK exclusive and if a headline band are going to sub at T it would make the line up look weak so they would offer the exclusive to them. Also if The Black Keys are headlining R&L and for T to only offer a sub wouldn't be very enticing to them and wouldn't do any favours for them. It is similar to what Biffy did in 2013. T was only willing to offer a sub but R&L was offering a headline spot so which one would you chose

StevieMcK
ffs ffs what? He headlined the other stage... on the Saturday night, which draws a similar sized crowd to the Main Stage at T. If the Black Keys have too big an ego to sub at T, then they can do one as far as I'm concerned. They were pretty average on the Pyramid stage on the Sunday night this year. For a start, Glastonbury stage placings are often if not usually irrelevant to other festivals. See also: Paolo Nutini, the Kaiser Chiefs and Laura Mvula. For a second, he was initially booked for the John Peel tent. Edited July 18, 2014 by Zac Quinn

dentalplan
Not so sure, we know someone was bumped up when Metallica were.. Or he was just booked to replace them. I don't think Jake Bugg's booking agents would get him subbing T and R+L and then playing John Peel - the equivalent of a King Tuts sub - opposite Prince and Metallica. justanothername
T might not be in the UK unless sense is seen. There is a thread for that Anyway I'm sure other festivals will find ways around it if it did happen. UK and Scotland exclusive or British Isles exclusive. ffs what? He headlined the other stage... on the Saturday night, which draws a similar sized crowd to the Main Stage at T. If the Black Keys have too big an ego to sub at T, then they can do one as far as I'm concerned. They were pretty average on the Pyramid stage on the Sunday night this year. Main ≠ Other but Main > Other Why would declining sub be having a big ego? They want to do well don't they? If you're headlining a major festival and subbing another you're not getting anyway, you'd just solidify a strong sub status but if you only headline a major festival you solidify headliner status. Biffy did that do they have a big ego too?

The Man with a Plan
But if Calvin Harris comes on and closes the stage then that would make him the headliner as the headliner closes the stage. Shanks18
Don't you know that if Calvin Harris comes on a closes the stage then that would make him the headliner as the headliner closes the stage. Not really. There are festivals all over Europe which have a main band "headlining" and then a dance act closing. For example Metallica at Rock Werchter this year with Skrillex closing. Sure Rock AM Ring done it on the Friday this year aswell.
justanothername
Don't you know that if Calvin Harris comes on a closes the stage then that would make him the headliner as the headliner closes the stage. No....it doesn't. I get why you think like that but closing sets from a dance act are common. Nero are closing the NME stage at R&L this year but there are no where no big enough to headline it hence why Bombay are the headliners and Nero are closing (still probably due to the fact that'd not many people would see Bombay over Arctics though)
Lor1
Not a problem with that but would prefer ah change from Calvin Harris.
Shanks18
Kasabian/ The Prodigy would probably be my ideal scenario for next year. Knife Party would also be superb but I doubt they are big enough, NME at a push.
