justanothername
Is this a serious statement? It must be a sign of the times that people actually think Florence and the Machine would be a 'Strong' headliner. Its bad enough we have nonsense like The 1975, Bastille, Calvin Harris etc. Playing year after year but Florence and the Machine now seen as a good choice to Headline? Utter rubbish. People keep complaining about repeat bookings and how new headliners and when someone new is suggested and is capable of headlining it is pushed aside as they don't like them or claim they're not big enough when it is clearly not the case. T needs new headliners and shouldn't rely on other festivals like R&L to create them
DomDom1984
Why was Calvin Harris put in there. Like him or not, he was a strong headliner and that's not even debatable.
Matt42
Mumford and Sons look very likely for T then... https://www.facebook.com/mumfordandsons/photos/a.10151005374268793.485356.35370633792/10153140615338793/?type=1&theater god. Red Day
Don't think there's many bands play at BBK and end up playing in T for some reason. Not a massive amount of shared acts
Red Day
Oh and I utterly detest that Mumfords. Bunch of posh pricks trying to come across as hicks.
kingcrawler
Don't think there's many bands play at BBK and end up playing in T for some reason. Not a massive amount of shared acts Yeah they only shared 4 acts last year as far as I can see, even less the year before. It's similar for NOS Alive which is the same weekend, seems like quite a lot of bands just play both of those and miss T.
Shanks18
I would say Mumford are a stick on. I loved there first album when it first came out but got bored very quickly though.
Mezhyp1
BBK is a really weird festival they've always got some big, if ever so slightly strange bookings, i know they went all metal in 09/10 or so, didn't Keane and Garbage co-headline it one year? I don't know if a TITP and BBK have ever shared a headliner, correct me if I'm wrong, glasgow summer sessions and BBK have though and Mumford would be popular for that too

Have to go back to 2008 before that for REM but BBK was the weekend before T that year.

Wasn't sure cheers, I think if there is going to be a band that's shared Mumford seems to be along the line of it, especially in terms of headliner I would still be banking on a summer sessions show rather than TITP, although they are SR so what do I know
DGrant261
I would still be banking on a summer sessions show rather than TITP, although they are SR so what do I know I think Mumfords will do Summer Sessions tbh. On the basis that although they dont affect each others ticket sales that greatly with Melvin going on about how much exclusively means to R&L it sharing 2 headliners would seem odd and is becoming uncommon. Florence seems set to headline for me as for the 3rd headliner. Prodigy? Noel? Foos? Can see any of those 3 happening.

DomDom1984
Mumford and Sons have gone down as a SR. I assume that's the deal here.

foolee
So headliners are going to be The Libertines - Mumford - Florence, dear god. Glad I made the decision of last year being my last.
Rose-Colored Boy
So one step-up headliner, one questionable headliner and one headliner who is perceived to not be of headlining status despite headlining everywhere on their last album. Ticket sales will be fascinating.
DomDom1984
Florence is speculation. Not even close to being actually rumoured. If she plays she might not even headline. Simmer.
dentalplan
Even if it is those three; I don't see how it's particularly weak. Better something fresh than Kings of Leon again or something that'd have people complaining just as much.
foolee
Not saying she will but can't see any other realistic options at the moment. Don't think either Coldplay or Muse will do it either...
DomDom1984
Who says it has to be one of them?
foolee
Mumford or Florence isn't much better though as they both played 2/3 years ago which is still pretty poor. However The Libs-Muse-Mumford would look a stronger 3.
foolee
Just don't see who else is about that is headliner worthy, saying that there isn't anyone around that is headliner worthy and really 'wow, that's an interesting booking'. Not that T will go for anyway
DomDom1984
For the record, I don't think it'll be Florence, and I'm not even convinced it's Mumfords either, although I do see the latter as one that wouldn't shock me.
