Effect of increasing the speed limit on UK motorsways

I am currently undertaking a survey for my final year dissertation on increasing the national speed limit on UK motorways.

Not a good start, I spelt motorways wrong!

I've filled it out.

I'm in favour of increasing it, but not universally. I think there are a number of stretches where it's right that it's 70 (and often reducing to 60), namely when motorways pass through cities and there's a high frequency of junctions. I think higher speeds should only be for the longer stretches where not many cars are going to be looking to join or leave the motorway.
