Wolf Alice

Could it be Drenge -> Catfish -> Wolf Alice? Means Riggins is in the know and smiled 'cos right acts, wrong order...

Wolf Alice and Catfish both only have one album to their name, both new-ish acts hot on the scene, I could see WA taking the slot above them without it being a huge shock...

I was smiling cos Drenge and Wolf Alice are two bands I've seen close to 40 times combined so seeing them one after the other is brilliant for me buuuuuuut, as much as it pains me Catfish and his band of bellends sold out Brixton twice over in a day so would imagine they'd be top of that bill, but who knows

Would reluctantly have to agree i think they have put the album off for to long and have released much stronger tracks on previous eps than are on the album.

It still has a few standout moments most of which we have already heard previous to the release.

Not blown away by any of the album tracks im hearing for the first time.

Having said all that its still a good record but perhaps my standards were a little to high.

Yeah the album seems overly long to me and could have done with having songs like Heavenly Creatures or Moaning Lisa Smile on there. I still think they have a big future though and will go on to release better albums.

So, looking at the booklet and it has wolf alice at 18:30 on friday on the park. Website says 17:00. Any idea which one is correct? That run the jewels clash would not be nice.

It's the website, they were originally down for 18:30 but swapped with Benjamin Booker for some reason.

What happened to her set time on The Park? Why did it change from what was printed on the lanyards?

Or maybe im wrong and all was fine .. Some things may have been become a bit blurred over the week!!!

They were on at 5, not 6:30 as the lanyards indicated. No idea why they changed though.

They were so so good on the Park. Got into Williams Green for their set but was too far back to see anything, everyone was talking and it was ridiculously sweaty in there so decided to just watch their Park set instead.

Out of interest, how did you come to know of the time change?

It was on the website before the festival started, I printed off a clashfinder the day before I went :)

Ahhhh .. That's what you get for being organised then eh!! We had just nipped back to the tent at the moment they came on, and being camped on Pennards, managed to dash over so managed to catch them.

Great set from a great band.

Great set in Williams Green, was by the barrier at the front right by the viewing platform by the side of the stage

After the set the drummers Mum wandered over, introduced herself and thanked us for being ' so into it' - and how wonderful it was to see (I think we are about the same age as her and she didn't expect any more mature music lovers to be enjoying it - not sure why though)

They were fantastic. Preferred the Park set as I was front centre - had to squeeze into the back of Williams Green after Drenge. Ended up buying tour tickets on the coach back!

Also finally gave the album a proper listen on the journey. I would like to to thank them for bringing 'Soapy Water' into my life.

I only listened to the album yesterday for the first time and I can say it is great.

Was going to try and get in to WG but me and my lot decided to go check out the night areas during the twilight instead and try and get into Block 9 for Cerrone who we thought would be rammed - after 10 mins not hearing anything we buggered off.

WA were great on the Park - favourite songs were Goant Peach which is a beast live and Your Loves Whore

I don't think there was a time change, just that the lanyards were printed wrong.

There was a time change 2 weeks before the festival (they swapped times with Benjamin Booker). A lot of the other time changes on the smaller stages/late night areas remained incorrect in the programme too... Fortunately I relied on clashfinder and the app instead

According to the lanyard Foo Fighters were still headlining.... clash finder all the way!

Yeah I think it was just a mistake unfortunately. I checked it against the app assuming that the electronic version would be great. Really enjoyed their Park set, would have been even better had the weather been nicer.

Going to see them at Brixton off the back of it.

  • 5 years later...

Album is really growing on me. Keep putting it on for a long play and then immediately restarting it!

Was a really big fan of their debut, their second album wasn't really on my radar but it's nice to get back into them!
