Might be a daft question, but what’s the condition of the ground likely to be like around the front of the pyramid with the kind of rain that is expected on Friday?

Depends on the sun I guess.. some forecasts predict sunshine & showers. If it does pour down it's going to be messy in the pit for sure.

Though the pit is cordoned off until the Friday morning, so won't sustain any damage during the rains on the Thursday.

Exactly this. There are far worse places on site than in front of the Pyramid when it really does lash it down, although it isn't going to, so stop worrying! ;)

Indeed. It's the Other Stage area that really gets it.

It is our solemn duty to have fun whatever happens. I'm not one of those people that pretends it's part of the experience, or makes it more fun, but, you know... the only time I REALLY don't enjoy it is when it's been going on for hours and I'm stood in it. Then it stops and we all get on with it!

It always seems that the Pyramid gets sticky mud, whereas the Other Stage ends up like a swamp. Must be different soil or something.

The other stage field is generally flat.. remember the chemical bros in 2011 was hillarious as the mud was just starting to dry..

I'm either being unusually hopelessly optimistic here or living in denial, but I cannot see this being a mudbath.

If we get 10-15mm on Friday it'll certainly get a bit muddy in places, but if its hot thereafter it'll be like last years Thursday and be dry by midday/afternoon the next day.

Yeah I mean, how many mm are we expecting? the last I dared to look we were looking at 10mm on average over the festival? I fearfully assume it's risen since then?

If you haven't already, said a thank you to Jackone I'm sure it would be appricated. The daily updates take him a long long time..

Quoted from JACKONE: "Thanks for all the feedback, (good and bad) it is appreciated, and makes the hard work worthwhile..."

Thanks for that reminder - I'll do that now :)

At my office yet the only work I'm doing is weather site checking.

I have a meeting at 1 and can only assume during the time I'm away from my desk the forecast will significantly improve and you'll all be smiling from ear to ear when I return.

It's a privilege to have ridden this rollercoaster with you all once again. Even you Nal.

Will be interesting to see if Netweather get the apparent 9.5mm of rain forecast for BA4 correct today.

At the moment, 3.6mm for Friday and 5.9mm Saturday. Notice how the 'worst of the rain' keeps shifting a day further (e.g. was Thursday, then Friday, now Saturday). As I've said many times I'd much rather be hoping the weather doesn't drastically change than hoping it does.

That's the same for a few sites now, less rain on Friday but a bit more on Saturday.
