So many drama queens on here. It's not going to be like 2007, personally had a great time, but it might rain.

Boohoo it's the greatest festival on earth and if a little moisture is going to spoil it that much may I respectfullying suggest that next year you watch on TV and let the hardier ones enjoy themselves.

2008 it rained then dried really quickly. 2011 it rained then dried up really quickly. In fact most years it rains then dries up pretty quickly.

2010 brought it's own problems due to the lack of shade and heat but we dealt with it.

I ssuspect most of the people having a whinge now will have a great time no matter what the weather. For those of us who have a glass half full we know we will have a great time and will adjust no matter what.

Btw this rant does not apply to those of you with mobility issues as mud obviously causes you more difficulty. In my own small way I saw that while waiting for a knee op in 2007 and recovering from a knee op in 2008.

Enjoy yourselves people it's Glastonbury for heavens sake.

2011 was a slog to walk around most days and you couldn't sit down on the floor in most places until Sunday evening and even then it was touch or go.

Must have been at different festivals, 2011 was great apart from the Friday

It really wasnt. Sunday was great but the other days were a nightmare. From the minute we got off the coach and the rain started to the Saturday night I had a pain in my a*se trying to wade through the mud. It was horrible. Granted it was only my second Glastonbury but I have been to plenty of festivals over the years and 2011 for me was horrible.

Mud, Mud, glorious mud

Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood!

So follow me, follow

Down to the hollow

And there let us wallow

In glorious mud.

Whenever it gets muddy, the people who have been quietly surpressing their secret desires to eat and bathe in large quantities of cow faeces and human urine, always come out in droves

1998 was horrible. 2007 was horrible (my first two glastos)

2011 was awful for U2 but then fine by Saturday afternoon

Yeah it may have been hot and sunny on Sat and Sun but the damage that had already been done made it exhausting at times.

I think I'm remembering a different festival for 2011 as well. I remember it being wet on Thursday/Friday but was fine when I woke up Saturday morning.

The rain also added to the atmosphere at Primal Scream as well, the lasers and flares looked brilliant in the drizzle.

I'm pretty hardy to festival conditions, but I found 2011 bloody miserable. Was soaked and caked in mud by the time I got through the four-hour queue at Gate A, and my shoes kept getting sucked off (fnar) every time I went near the late-night areas, which ruined that. I actually enjoyed U2, but it was absolutely twatting it down by then.

I agree entirely. Been to every Glastonbury since 1994 and this was the worst one for me. In the other rainy years you could slosh around in your wellies but 2011 was just an ordeal to get anywhere or do anything.

WHAT!

2011 was worse than 2007?

I'd say not, but they were both hard work. Don't get me wrong, I put everything into it regardless of the weather and love being there. But when you can't sit down all weekend, it takes a lot of the spontaneity out of things, and instead of wandering and sitting wherever you feel like in the sunshine, you're hustling from place to place in wet clothes and trying to find tents to cram into out of the rain. The only three I've found a bit of a drag because of the weather were 98, 07 and 11. 2005 was fine, as I remember it, and it only really rained once. Just very, very hard!
